３６ゼパニヤ書		Book 36Zephaniah

1:1ユダの王アモンの子ヨシヤの世に、ゼパニヤに臨んだ主の言葉。ゼパニヤはクシの子、クシはゲダリヤの子、ゲダリヤはアマリヤの子、アマリヤはヒゼキヤの子である。		1:1 The word of Yahweh {"Yahweh" is God's proper Name, sometimes rendered "LORD" (all caps) in other translations.} which came to Zephaniah, the son of Cushi, the son of Gedaliah, the son of Amariah, the son of Hezekiah, in the days of Josiah, the son of Amon, king of Judah.
1:2主は言われる、「わたしは地のおもてからすべてのものを一掃する」。		1:2 I will utterly sweep away everything off of the surface of the earth, says Yahweh.
1:3主は言われる、「わたしは人も獣も一掃し、空の鳥、海の魚をも一掃する。わたしは悪人を倒す。わたしは地のおもてから人を絶ち滅ぼす」。		1:3 I will sweep away man and animal. I will sweep away the birds of the sky, the fish of the sea, and the heaps of rubble with the wicked. I will cut off man from the surface of the earth, says Yahweh.
1:4「わたしはユダとエルサレムのすべての住民との上に手を伸べる。わたしはこの所からバアルの残党と、偶像の祭司の名とを断つ。		1:4 I will stretch out my hand against Judah, and against all the inhabitants of Jerusalem. I will cut off the remnant of Baal from this place: the name of the idolatrous and pagan priests,
1:5また屋上で天の万象を拝む者、主に誓いを立てて拝みながら、またミルコムをさして誓う者、		1:5 those who worship the army of the sky on the housetops, those who worship and swear by Yahweh and also swear by Malcam,
1:6主にそむいて従わない者、主を求めず、主を尋ねない者を断つ」。		1:6 those who have turned back from following Yahweh, and those who haven't sought Yahweh nor inquired after him.
1:7主なる神の前に沈黙せよ。主の日は近づき、主はすでに犠牲を備え、その招いた者を聖別されたからである。		1:7 Be silent at the presence of the Lord {The word translated "Lord" is "Adonai."} Yahweh, for the day of Yahweh is at hand. For Yahweh has prepared a sacrifice. He has consecrated his guests.
1:8主の犠牲をささげる日に、「わたしはつかさたちと王の子たち、およびすべて異邦の衣服を着る者を罰する。		1:8 It will happen in the day of Yahweh's sacrifice, that I will punish the princes, the king's sons, and all those who are clothed with foreign clothing.
1:9その日にわたしはまた、すべて敷居をとび越え、暴虐と欺きとを自分の主君の家に満たす者を罰する」。		1:9 In that day, I will punish all those who leap over the threshold, who fill their master's house with violence and deceit.
1:10主は言われる、「その日には魚の門から叫び声がおこり、第二の町からうめき声がおこり、もろもろの丘からすさまじい響きがおこる。		1:10 In that day, says Yahweh, there will be the noise of a cry from the fish gate, a wailing from the second quarter, and a great crashing from the hills.
1:11しっくいの家の住民よ、泣き叫べ。あきないする民は皆滅ぼされ、銀を量る者は皆断たれるからである。		1:11 Wail, you inhabitants of Maktesh, for all the people of Canaan are undone! All those who were loaded with silver are cut off.
1:12その時、わたしはともしびをもって、エルサレムを尋ねる。そして滓の上に凝り固まり、その心の中で『主は良いことも、悪いこともしない』と言う人々をわたしは罰する。		1:12 It will happen at that time, that I will search Jerusalem with lamps, and I will punish the men who are settled on their dregs, who say in their heart, "Yahweh will not do good, neither will he do evil."
1:13彼らの財宝はかすめられ、彼らの家は荒れはてる。彼らは家を建てても、それに住むことができない、ぶどう畑を作っても、そのぶどう酒を飲むことができない」。		1:13 Their wealth will become a spoil, and their houses a desolation. Yes, they will build houses, but won't inhabit them. They will plant vineyards, but won't drink their wine.
1:14主の大いなる日は近い、近づいて、すみやかに来る。主の日の声は耳にいたい。そこに、勇士もいたく叫ぶ。		1:14 The great day of Yahweh is near. It is near, and hurries greatly, the voice of the day of Yahweh. The mighty man cries there bitterly.
1:15その日は怒りの日、なやみと苦しみの日、荒れ、また滅びる日、暗く、薄暗い日、雲と黒雲の日、		1:15 That day is a day of wrath, a day of distress and anguish, a day of trouble and ruin, a day of darkness and gloom, a day of clouds and blackness,
1:16ラッパとときの声の日、堅固な町と高いやぐらを攻める日である。		1:16 a day of the trumpet and alarm, against the fortified cities, and against the high battlements.
1:17わたしは人々になやみを下して、盲人のように歩かせる。彼らが主に対して罪を犯したからである。彼らの血はちりのように流され、彼らの肉は糞土のように捨てられる。		1:17 I will bring distress on men, that they will walk like blind men, because they have sinned against Yahweh, and their blood will be poured out like dust, and their flesh like dung.
1:18彼らの銀も金も、主の怒りの日には彼らを救うことができない。全地は主のねたみの火にのまれる。主は地に住む人々をたちまち滅ぼし尽される。		1:18 Neither their silver nor their gold will be able to deliver them in the day of Yahweh's wrath, but the whole land will be devoured by the fire of his jealousy; for he will make an end, yes, a terrible end, of all those who dwell in the land.
2:1あなたがた、恥を知らぬ民よ、共につどい、集まれ。		2:1 Gather yourselves together, yes, gather together, you nation that has no shame,
2:2すなわち、もみがらのように追いやられる前に、主の激しい怒りがまだあなたがたに臨まない前に、主の憤りの日がまだあなたがたに来ない前に。		2:2 before the appointed time when the day passes as the chaff, before the fierce anger of Yahweh comes on you, before the day of Yahweh's anger comes on you.
2:3すべて主の命令を行うこの地のへりくだる者よ、主を求めよ。正義を求めよ。謙遜を求めよ。そうすればあなたがたは主の怒りの日に、あるいは隠されることがあろう。		2:3 Seek Yahweh, all you humble of the land, who have kept his ordinances. Seek righteousness. Seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden in the day of Yahweh's anger.
2:4ともあれ、ガザは捨てられ、アシケロンは荒れはて、アシドドは真昼に追い払われ、エクロンは抜き去られる。		2:4 For Gaza will be forsaken, and Ashkelon a desolation. They will drive out Ashdod at noonday, and Ekron will be rooted up.
2:5わざわいなるかな、海べに住む者、ケレテの国民。ペリシテびとの地、カナンよ、主の言葉があなたがたに臨む。わたしはあなたを滅ぼして、住む者がないようにする。		2:5 Woe to the inhabitants of the sea coast, the nation of the Cherethites! The word of Yahweh is against you, Canaan, the land of the Philistines. I will destroy you, that there will be no inhabitant.
2:6海べよ、あなたは牧場となり、羊飼の牧草地となり、また羊のおりとなる。		2:6 The sea coast will be pastures, with cottages for shepherds and folds for flocks.
2:7海べはユダの家の残りの者に帰する。彼らはその所で群れを養い、夕暮にはアシケロンの家に伏す。彼らの神、主が彼らを顧み、その幸福を回復されるからである。		2:7 The coast will be for the remnant of the house of Judah. They will find pasture. In the houses of Ashkelon, they will lie down in the evening, for Yahweh, their God {The Hebrew word rendered "God" is "Elohim."}, will visit them, and restore them.
2:8「わたしはモアブのあざけりと、アンモンの人々の、ののしりを聞いた。彼らはわが民をあざけり、自ら誇って彼らの国境を侵した。		2:8 I have heard the reproach of Moab, and the insults of the children of Ammon, with which they have reproached my people, and magnified themselves against their border.
2:9それゆえ、万軍の主、イスラエルの神は言われる、わたしは生きている。モアブは必ずソドムのようになる。アンモンの人々はゴモラのようになる。いらくさと塩穴とがここを占領して、永遠に荒れ地となる。わが民の残りの者は彼らをかすめ、わが国民の残りの者はこれを所有する」。		2:9 Therefore as I live, says Yahweh of Armies, the God of Israel, surely Moab will be as Sodom, and the children of Ammon as Gomorrah, a possession of nettles, and salt pits, and a perpetual desolation. The remnant of my people will plunder them, and the survivors of my nation will inherit them.
2:10この事の彼らに臨むのはその高ぶりによるのだ。彼らが万軍の主の民をあざけり、みずから誇ったからである。		2:10 This they will have for their pride, because they have reproached and magnified themselves against the people of Yahweh of Armies.
2:11主は彼らに対して恐るべき者となられる。主は地のすべての神々を飢えさせられる。もろもろの国の民は、おのおの自分の所から出て主を拝む。		2:11 Yahweh will be awesome to them, for he will famish all the gods of the land. Men will worship him, everyone from his place, even all the shores of the nations.
2:12エチオピヤびとよ、あなたがたもまたわがつるぎによって殺される。		2:12 You Cushites also, you will be killed by my sword.
2:13主はまた北に向かって手を伸べ、アッスリヤを滅ぼし、ニネベを荒して、荒野のような、かわいた地とされる。		2:13 He will stretch out his hand against the north, destroy Assyria, and will make Nineveh a desolation, as dry as the wilderness.
2:14家畜の群れ、もろもろの野の獣はその中に伏し、はげたかや、やまあらしはその柱の頂に住み、ふくろうは、その窓のうちになき、からすは、その敷居の上に鳴く。その香柏の細工が裸にされるからである。		2:14 Herds will lie down in the midst of her, all the animals of the nations. Both the pelican and the porcupine will lodge in its capitals. Their calls will echo through the windows. Desolation will be in the thresholds, for he has laid bare the cedar beams.
2:15この町は勝ち誇って、安らかに落ち着き、その心の中で、「ただわたしだけだ、わたしの外にはだれもない」と言った町であるが、このように荒れはてて、獣の伏す所になってしまった。ここを通り過ぎる者は皆あざけって、手を振る。		2:15 This is the joyous city that lived carelessly, that said in her heart, "I am, and there is none besides me." How she has become a desolation, a place for animals to lie down in! Everyone who passes by her will hiss, and shake their fists.
3:1わざわいなるかな、このそむき汚れた暴虐の町。		3:1 Woe to her who is rebellious and polluted, the oppressing city!
3:2これはだれの声にも耳を傾けず、懲らしめを受けいれず、主に寄り頼まず、おのれの神に近よらない。		3:2 She didn't obey the voice. She didn't receive correction. She didn't trust in Yahweh. She didn't draw near to her God.
3:3その中にいるつかさたちは、ほえるしし、そのさばきびとたちは、夜のおおかみで、彼らは朝まで何一つ残さない。		3:3 Her princes in the midst of her are roaring lions. Her judges are evening wolves. They leave nothing until the next day.
3:4その預言者たちは、放縦で偽りびと、その祭司たちは聖なる物を汚し、律法を破る。		3:4 Her prophets are arrogant and treacherous people. Her priests have profaned the sanctuary. They have done violence to the law.
3:5その中にいます主は義であって、不義を行われない。朝ごとにその公義を現して、誤ることがない。しかし不義な者は恥を知らない。		3:5 Yahweh, in the midst of her, is righteous. He will do no wrong. Every morning he brings his justice to light. He doesn't fail, but the unjust know no shame.
3:6「わたしは諸国民を滅ぼした。そのやぐらは荒れはてた。わたしはそのちまたを荒したので、ちまたを行き来する者もない。その町々は荒れすたれて、人の姿もなく、住む者もない。		3:6 I have cut off nations. Their battlements are desolate. I have made their streets waste, so that no one passes by. Their cities are destroyed, so that there is no man, so that there is no inhabitant.
3:7わたしは言った、『これは必ずわたしを恐れ、懲らしめを受ける。これはわたしが命じたすべての事を見失わない』と。しかし彼らはしきりに自分の行状を乱した」。		3:7 I said, "Just fear me. Receive correction, so that her dwelling won't be cut off, according to all that I have appointed concerning her." But they rose early and corrupted all their doings.
3:8主は言われる、「それゆえ、あなたがたは、わたしが立って、証言する日を待て。わたしの決意は諸国民をよせ集め、もろもろの国を集めて、わが憤り、わが激しい怒りをことごとくその上に注ぐことであって、全地は、ねたむわたしの怒りの火に焼き滅ぼされるからである。		3:8 "Therefore wait for me," says Yahweh, "until the day that I rise up to the prey, for my determination is to gather the nations, that I may assemble the kingdoms, to pour on them my indignation, even all my fierce anger, for all the earth will be devoured with the fire of my jealousy.
3:9その時わたしはもろもろの民に清きくちびるを与え、すべて彼らに主の名を呼ばせ、心を一つにして主に仕えさせる。		3:9 For then I will purify the lips of the peoples, that they may all call on the name of Yahweh, to serve him shoulder to shoulder.
3:10わたしを拝む者、わたしが散らした者の娘はエチオピヤの川々の向こうから来て、わたしに供え物をささげる。		3:10 From beyond the rivers of Cush, my worshipers, even the daughter of my dispersed people, will bring my offering.
3:11その日には、あなたはわたしにそむいたすべてのわざのゆえに、はずかしめられることはない。その時わたしはあなたのうちから、高ぶって誇る者どもを除くゆえ、あなたは重ねてわが聖なる山で、高ぶることはない。		3:11 In that day you will not be disappointed for all your doings, in which you have transgressed against me; for then I will take away out of the midst of you your proudly exulting ones, and you will no more be haughty in my holy mountain.
3:12わたしは柔和にしてへりくだる民を、あなたのうちに残す。彼らは主の名を避け所とする。		3:12 But I will leave in the midst of you an afflicted and poor people, and they will take refuge in the name of Yahweh.
3:13イスラエルの残りの者は不義を行わず、偽りを言わず、その口には欺きの舌を見ない。それゆえ、彼らは食を得て伏し、彼らをおびやかす者はいない」。		3:13 The remnant of Israel will not do iniquity, nor speak lies, neither will a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth, for they will feed and lie down, and no one will make them afraid."
3:14シオンの娘よ、喜び歌え。イスラエルよ、喜び呼ばわれ。エルサレムの娘よ、心のかぎり喜び楽しめ。		3:14 Sing, daughter of Zion! Shout, Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all your heart, daughter of Jerusalem.
3:15主はあなたを訴える者を取り去り、あなたの敵を追い払われた。イスラエルの王なる主はあなたのうちにいます。あなたはもはや災を恐れることはない。		3:15 Yahweh has taken away your judgments. He has thrown out your enemy. The King of Israel, Yahweh, is in the midst of you. You will not be afraid of evil any more.
3:16その日、人々はエルサレムに向かって言う、「シオンよ、恐れるな。あなたの手を弱々しくたれるな。		3:16 In that day, it will be said to Jerusalem, "Don't be afraid, Zion. Don't let your hands be weak."
3:17あなたの神、主はあなたのうちにいまし、勇士であって、勝利を与えられる。彼はあなたのために喜び楽しみ、その愛によってあなたを新にし、祭の日のようにあなたのために喜び呼ばわられる」。		3:17 Yahweh, your God, is in the midst of you, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with joy. He will calm you in his love. He will rejoice over you with singing.
3:18「わたしはあなたから悩みを取り去る。あなたは恥を受けることはない。		3:18 I will remove those who grieve about the appointed feasts from you. They are a burden and a reproach to you.
3:19見よ、その時あなたをしえたげる者をわたしはことごとく処分し、足なえを救い、追いやられた者を集め、彼らの恥を誉にかえ、全地にほめられるようにする。		3:19 Behold, at that time I will deal with all those who afflict you, and I will save those who are lame, and gather those who were driven away. I will give them praise and honor, whose shame has been in all the earth.
3:20その時、わたしはあなたがたを連れかえる。わたしがあなたがたを集めるとき、わたしがあなたがたの目の前に、あなたがたの幸福を回復するとき、地のすべての民の中で、あなたがたに名を得させ、誉を得させる」と主は言われる。		3:20 At that time will I bring you in, and at that time will I gather you; for I will give you honor and praise among all the peoples of the earth, when I restore your fortunes before your eyes, says Yahweh.
