34ナホム書		Book 34Nahum

1:1ニネベについての託宣。エルコシびとナホムの幻の書。		1:1 An oracle about Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite.
1:2主はねたみ、かつあだを報いる神、主はあだを報いる者、また憤る者、主はおのがあだに報復し、おのが敵に対して憤りをいだく。		1:2 Yahweh {"Yahweh" is God's proper Name, sometimes rendered "LORD" (all caps) in other translations.} is a jealous God {The Hebrew word rendered "God" is "Elohim."} and avenges. Yahweh avenges and is full of wrath. Yahweh takes vengeance on his adversaries, and he maintains wrath against his enemies.
1:3主は怒ることおそく、力強き者、主は罰すべき者を決してゆるされない者、主の道はつむじ風と大風の中にあり、雲はその足のちりである。		1:3 Yahweh is slow to anger, and great in power, and will by no means leave the guilty unpunished. Yahweh has his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
1:4彼は海を戒めて、これをかわかし、すべての川をかれさせる。バシャンとカルメルはしおれ、レバノンの花はしぼむ。		1:4 He rebukes the sea, and makes it dry, and dries up all the rivers. Bashan languishes, and Carmel; and the flower of Lebanon languishes.
1:5もろもろの山は彼の前に震い、もろもろの丘は溶け、地は彼の前にむなしくなり、世界とその中に住む者も皆、むなしくなる。		1:5 The mountains quake before him, and the hills melt away. The earth trembles at his presence, yes, the world, and all who dwell in it.
1:6だれが彼の憤りの前に立つことができよう。だれが彼の燃える怒りに耐えることができよう。その憤りは火のように注がれ、岩も彼によって裂かれる。		1:6 Who can stand before his indignation? Who can endure the fierceness of his anger? His wrath is poured out like fire, and the rocks are broken apart by him.
1:7主は恵み深く、なやみの日の要害である。彼はご自分を避け所とする者を知っておられる。		1:7 Yahweh is good, a stronghold in the day of trouble; and he knows those who take refuge in him.
1:8しかし、彼はみなぎる洪水であだを全く滅ぼし、おのが敵を暗やみに追いやられる。		1:8 But with an overflowing flood, he will make a full end of her place, and will pursue his enemies into darkness.
1:9あなたがたは主に対して何を計るか。彼はその敵に二度としかえしをする必要がないように敵を全く滅ぼされる。		1:9 What do you plot against Yahweh? He will make a full end. Affliction won't rise up the second time.
1:10彼らは結びからまったいばらのように、かわいた刈り株のように、焼き尽される。		1:10 For entangled like thorns, and drunken as with their drink, they are consumed utterly like dry stubble.
1:11主に対して悪事を計り、よこしまな事を勧める者があなたのうちから出たではないか。		1:11 There is one gone forth out of you, who devises evil against Yahweh, who counsels wickedness.
1:12主はこう言われる、「たとい彼らは強く、かつ多くあっても、切り倒されて絶えはてる。わたしはあなたを苦しめたが、重ねてあなたを苦しめない。		1:12 Thus says Yahweh: "Though they be in full strength, and likewise many, even so they will be cut down, and he shall pass away. Though I have afflicted you, I will afflict you no more.
1:13今わたしは彼のくびきを砕いて、あなたからとり除き、あなたのなわめを切りはなす」。		1:13 Now will I break his yoke from off you, and will burst your bonds apart."

Keep your feasts, Judah! Perform your vows, for the wicked one will no more pass through you. He is utterly cut off.
2:1撃ち破る者があなたに向かって上って来る。城を守れ、道をうかがえ。腰に帯せよ、大いに力を強くせよ。		2:1 He who dashes in pieces has come up against you. Keep the fortress! Watch the way! Strengthen your waist! Fortify your power mightily!
2:2主はヤコブの栄えを回復して、イスラエルの栄えのようにされる。かすめる者が彼らをかすめ、そのぶどうづるを、そこなったからである。		2:2 For Yahweh restores the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel; for the destroyers have destroyed them, and ruined their vine branches.
2:3その勇士の盾は赤くいろどられ、その兵士は紅に身をよろう。戦車はその備えの日に、火のように輝き、軍馬はおどる。		2:3 The shield of his mighty men is made red. The valiant men are in scarlet. The chariots flash with steel in the day of his preparation, and the pine spears are brandished.
2:4戦車はちまたに狂い走り、大路に飛びかける。彼らはたいまつのように輝き、いなずまのように飛びかける。		2:4 The chariots rage in the streets. They rush back and forth in the broad ways. Their appearance is like torches. They run like the lightnings.

2:7その王妃は裸にされて、捕われゆき、その侍女たちは悲しみ、胸を打って、はとのようにうめく。		2:7 It is decreed: she is uncovered, she is carried away; and her handmaids moan as with the voice of doves, beating on their breasts.
2:8ニネベは池のようであったが、その水は注ぎ出された。「立ち止まれ、立ち止まれ」と呼んでも、ふりかえるものもない。		2:8 But Nineveh has been from of old like a pool of water, yet they flee away. "Stop! Stop!" they cry, but no one looks back.
2:9銀を奪え、金を奪え。その宝は限りなく、もろもろの尊い物はおびただしい。		2:9 Take the spoil of silver. Take the spoil of gold, for there is no end of the store, the glory of all goodly furniture.
2:10消えうせ、むなしくなり、荒れはてた。心は消え、ひざは震え、すべての腰には痛みがあり、すべての顔は色を失った。		2:10 She is empty, void, and waste. The heart melts, the knees knock together, their bodies and faces have grown pale.

2:12雄じしはその子じしのために引き裂き、雌じしのために獲物を絞め殺し、獲物をもってその穴を満たし、引き裂いた肉をもってそのすみかを満たした。		2:12 The lion tore in pieces enough for his cubs, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his caves with the kill, and his dens with prey.
2:13万軍の主は言われる、見よ、わたしはあなたに臨む。わたしはあなたの戦車を焼いて煙にする。つるぎはあなたの若いししを滅ぼす。わたしはまた、あなたの獲物を地から断つ。あなたの使者の声は重ねて聞かれない。		2:13 "Behold, I am against you," says Yahweh of Armies, "and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword will devour your young lions; and I will cut off your prey from the earth, and the voice of your messengers will no longer be heard."
3:1わざわいなるかな、血を流す町。その中には偽りと、ぶんどり物が満ち、略奪はやまない。		3:1 Woe to the bloody city! It is all full of lies and robbery. The prey doesn't depart.

Her young children also were dashed in pieces at the head of all the streets, and they cast lots for her honorable men, and all her great men were bound in chains.
3:11あなたもまた酔わされて気を失い、あなたは敵を避けて逃げ場を求める。		3:11 You also will be drunken. You will be hidden. You also will seek a stronghold because of the enemy.
3:12あなたのとりでは皆初なりの実をもつ、いちじくの木のようだ。これをゆすぶればその実は落ちて、食べようとする者の口にはいる。		3:12 All your fortresses will be like fig trees with the first-ripe figs: if they are shaken, they fall into the mouth of the eater.
3:13見よ、あなたのうちにいる兵士は女のようだ。あなたの国の門はあなたの敵の前に広く開かれ、火はあなたの貫の木を焼いた。		3:13 Behold, your troops in your midst are women. The gates of your land are set wide open to your enemies. The fire has devoured your bars.
3:14籠城のために水をくめ。あなたのとりでを堅めよ。粘土の中にはいって、しっくいを踏み、れんがの型をとれ。		3:14 Draw water for the siege. Strengthen your fortresses. Go into the clay, and tread the mortar. Make the brick kiln strong.
3:15その所で火はあなたを焼き、つるぎはあなたを切る。それはいなごのようにあなたを食い滅ぼす。あなたはいなごのように数を増せ。ばったのようにふえよ。		3:15 There the fire will devour you. The sword will cut you off. It will devour you like the grasshopper. Multiply like grasshoppers. Multiply like the locust.
3:16あなたは自分の商人を天の星よりも多くした。いなごは羽をはって飛び去る。		3:16 You have increased your merchants more than the stars of the skies. The grasshopper strips, and flees away.
3:17あなたの君たちは、ばったのように、あなたの学者たちは、いなごのように、寒い日には垣にとまり、日が出て来ると飛び去る。そのありかはだれも知らない。		3:17 Your guards are like the locusts, and your officials like the swarms of locusts, which settle on the walls on a cold day, but when the sun appears, they flee away, and their place is not known where they are.
3:18アッスリヤの王よ、あなたの牧者は眠り、あなたの貴族はまどろむ。あなたの民は山の上に散らされ、これを集める者はない。		3:18 Your shepherds slumber, king of Assyria. Your nobles lie down. Your people are scattered on the mountains, and there is no one to gather them.
3:19あなたの破れは、いえることがなく、あなたの傷は重い。あなたのうわさを聞く者は皆、あなたの事について手を打つ。あなたの悪を常に身に受けなかったような者が、だれひとりあるか。		3:19 There is no healing your wound, for your injury is fatal. All who hear the report of you clap their hands over you; for who hasn't felt your endless cruelty?
