1:1ああ、むかしは、民の満ちみちていたこの都、国々の民のうちで大いなる者であったこの町、今は寂しいさまで座し、やもめのようになった。もろもろの町のうちで女王であった者、今は奴隷となった。		1:1 How the city sits solitary, that was full of people! She has become as a widow, who was great among the nations! She who was a princess among the provinces has become tributary!
1:2これは夜もすがらいたく泣き悲しみ、そのほおには涙が流れている。そのすべての愛する者のうちには、これを慰める者はひとりもなく、そのすべての友はこれにそむいて、その敵となった。		1:2 She weeps bitterly in the night, and her tears are on her cheeks; among all her lovers she has none to comfort her: All her friends have dealt treacherously with her; they are become her enemies.
1:3ユダは悩みのゆえに、また激しい苦役のゆえに、のがれて行って、もろもろの国民のうちに住んでいるが、安息を得ず、これを追う者がみな追いついてみると、悩みのうちにあった。		1:3 Judah is gone into captivity because of affliction, and because of great servitude; she dwells among the nations, she finds no rest: all her persecutors overtook her within the straits.
1:4シオンの道は祭に上ってくる者のないために悲しみ、その門はことごとく荒れ、その祭司たちは嘆き、そのおとめたちは引かれて行き、シオンはみずからいたく苦しむ。		1:4 The ways of Zion do mourn, because none come to the solemn assembly; all her gates are desolate, her priests do sigh: her virgins are afflicted, and she herself is in bitterness.
1:5そのあだはかしらとなり、その敵は栄えている。そのとがが多いので、主がこれを悩まされたからである。その幼な子たちは捕われて、あだの前に行った。		1:5 Her adversaries are become the head, her enemies prosper; for Yahweh {"Yahweh" is God's proper Name, sometimes rendered "LORD" (all caps) in other translations.} has afflicted her for the multitude of her transgressions: her young children are gone into captivity before the adversary.
1:6シオンの娘の栄華はことごとく彼女を離れ去り、その君たちは牧草を得ない、しかのようになり、自分を追う者の前に力なく逃げ去った。		1:6 From the daughter of Zion all her majesty is departed: her princes are become like harts that find no pasture, they are gone without strength before the pursuer.
1:7エルサレムはその悩みと苦しみの日に、昔から持っていたもろもろの宝を思い出す。その民があだの手に陥り、だれもこれを助ける者のない時、あだはこれを見て、その滅びをあざ笑った。		1:7 Jerusalem remembers in the days of her affliction and of her miseries all her pleasant things that were from the days of old: when her people fell into the hand of the adversary, and no one helped her, The adversaries saw her, they mocked at her desolations.
1:8エルサレムは、はなはだしく罪を犯したので、汚れたものとなった。これを尊んだ者も皆その裸を見たので、これを卑しめる。これもまたみずから嘆き、顔をそむける。		1:8 Jerusalem has grievously sinned; therefore she has become as an unclean thing; all who honored her despise her, because they have seen her nakedness: yes, she sighs, and turns backward.
1:9その汚れはその衣のすそにあり、これはその終りを思わなかった。それゆえ、これは驚くばかりに落ちぶれ、これを慰める者はひとりもない。「主よ、わが悩みを顧みてください、敵は勝ち誇っていますから」。		1:9 Her filthiness was in her skirts; she didn't remember her latter end; therefore is she come down wonderfully; she has no comforter: see, Yahweh, my affliction; for the enemy has magnified himself.
1:10敵は手を伸べて、その財宝をことごとく奪った。あなたがさきに異邦人らはあなたの公会に、はいってはならないと命じられたのに、彼らがその聖所にはいるのをシオンは見た。		1:10 The adversary has spread out his hand on all her pleasant things: for she has seen that the nations are entered into her sanctuary, concerning whom you commanded that they should not enter into your assembly.
1:11その民はみな嘆いて食物を求め、その命をささえるために、財宝を食物にかえた。「主よ、みそなわして、わたしの卑しめられるのを顧みてください」。		1:11 All her people sigh, they seek bread; they have given their pleasant things for food to refresh the soul: look, Yahweh, and see; for I am become abject.
1:12「すべて道行く人よ、あなたがたはなんとも思わないのか。主がその激しい怒りの日にわたしを悩まして、わたしにくだされた苦しみのような苦しみが、また世にあるだろうか、尋ねて見よ。		1:12 Is it nothing to you, all you who pass by? Look, and see if there is any sorrow like my sorrow, which is brought on me, With which Yahweh has afflicted me in the day of his fierce anger.
1:13主は上から火を送り、それをわが骨にくだし、網を張ってわが足を捕え、わたしを引き返させ、ひねもす心わびしく、かつ病み衰えさせられた。		1:13 From on high has he sent fire into my bones, and it prevails against them; He has spread a net for my feet, he has turned me back: He has made me desolate and faint all the day.
1:14わたしのとがは、つかねられて、一つのくびきとせられ、主のみ手により固く締められて、わたしの首におかれ、わたしの力を衰えさせられた。主はわたしを、立ちむかい得ざる者の手に渡された。		1:14 The yoke of my transgressions is bound by his hand; They are knit together, they have come up on my neck; he has made my strength to fail: The Lord {The word translated "Lord" is "Adonai."} has delivered me into their hands, against whom I am not able to stand.
1:15主はわたしのうちにあるすべての勇士を無視し、聖会を召集して、わたしを攻め、わが若き人々を打ち滅ぼされた。主は酒ぶねを踏むように、ユダの娘なるおとめを踏みつけられた。		1:15 The Lord has set at nothing all my mighty men in the midst of me; He has called a solemn assembly against me to crush my young men: The Lord has trodden as in a winepress the virgin daughter of Judah.
1:16このために、わたしは泣き悲しみ、わたしの目は涙であふれる。わたしを慰める者、わたしを勇気づける者がわたしから遠く離れたからである。わが子らは敵が勝ったために、わびしい者となった」。		1:16 For these things I weep; my eye, my eye runs down with water; Because the comforter who should refresh my soul is far from me: My children are desolate, because the enemy has prevailed.
1:17シオンは手を伸ばしても、これを慰める者はひとりもない。ヤコブについては、主は命じて、その周囲の者を、これがあだとせられた。エルサレムは彼らの中にあって、汚れた物のようになった。		1:17 Zion spreads forth her hands; there is none to comfort her; Yahweh has commanded concerning Jacob, that those who are around him should be his adversaries: Jerusalem is among them as an unclean thing.
1:18「主は正しい、わたしは、み言葉にそむいた。すべての民よ、聞け、わが苦しみを顧みよ。わがおとめらも、わが若人らも捕われて行った。		1:18 Yahweh is righteous; for I have rebelled against his commandment: Please hear all you peoples, and see my sorrow: My virgins and my young men are gone into captivity.
1:19わたしはわが愛する者を呼んだが、彼らはわたしを欺いた。わが祭司および長老たちは、その命をささえようと、食物を求めている間に、町のうちで息絶えた。		1:19 I called for my lovers, but they deceived me: My priests and my elders gave up the spirit in the city, While they sought them food to refresh their souls.
1:20主よ、顧みてください、わたしは悩み、わがはらわたはわきかえり、わが心臓はわたしの内に転倒しています。わたしは、はなはだしくそむいたからです。外にはつるぎがあって、わが子を奪い、家の内には死のようなものがある。		1:20 See, Yahweh; for I am in distress; my heart is troubled; My heart is turned within me; for I have grievously rebelled: Abroad the sword bereaves, at home there is as death.
1:21わたしがどんなに嘆くかを聞いてください。わたしを慰める者はひとりもなく、敵はみなわたしの悩みを聞いて、あなたがこれをなされたのを喜んだ。あなたがさきに告げ知らせたその日をきたらせ、彼らをも、わたしのようにしてください。		1:21 They have heard that I sigh; there is none to comfort me; All my enemies have heard of my trouble; they are glad that you have done it: You will bring the day that you have proclaimed, and they shall be like me.
1:22彼らの悪をことごとくあなたの前にあらわし、さきにわがもろもろのとがのために、わたしに行われたように、彼らにも行ってください。わが嘆きは多く、わが心は弱りはてているからです」。		1:22 Let all their wickedness come before you; Do to them, as you have done to me for all my transgressions: For my sighs are many, and my heart is faint.
2:1ああ、主は怒りを起し、黒雲をもってシオンの娘をおおわれた。主はイスラエルの栄光を天から地に投げ落し、その怒りの日に、おのれの足台を心にとめられなかった。		2:1 How has the Lord covered the daughter of Zion with a cloud in his anger! He has cast down from heaven to the earth the beauty of Israel, And hasn't remembered his footstool in the day of his anger.
2:2主はヤコブのすべてのすまいを滅ぼして、あわれまず、その怒りによって、ユダの娘のとりでをこわし、これを地に倒して、その国とそのつかさたちをはずかしめられた。		2:2 The Lord has swallowed up all the habitations of Jacob, and has not pitied: He has thrown down in his wrath the strongholds of the daughter of Judah; He has brought them down to the ground; he has profaned the kingdom and its princes.
2:3主は激しい怒りをもって、イスラエルのすべての力を断ち、敵の前で、おのれの右の手を引きもどし、周囲を焼きつくす燃える火のように、ヤコブを焼かれた。		2:3 He has cut off in fierce anger all the horn of Israel; He has drawn back his right hand from before the enemy: He has burned up Jacob like a flaming fire, which devours all around.
2:4主は敵のように弓を張り、あだのように右の手を伸べて立ち、シオンの娘の天幕におるわれわれの目に誇る者を、ことごとく殺し、火のようにその怒りを注がれた。		2:4 He has bent his bow like an enemy, he has stood with his right hand as an adversary, Has killed all that were pleasant to the eye: In the tent of the daughter of Zion he has poured out his wrath like fire.
2:5主は敵のようになって、イスラエルを滅ぼし、そのすべての宮殿を滅ぼし、そのとりでをこわし、ユダの娘の上に憂いと悲しみとを増し加えられた。		2:5 The Lord has become as an enemy, he has swallowed up Israel; He has swallowed up all her palaces, he has destroyed his strongholds; He has multiplied in the daughter of Judah mourning and lamentation.
2:6主は園の小屋のようにおのれの幕屋を倒し、その祭の場所をこわされた。主は祭と安息日とをシオンに忘れさせ、激しい怒りによって、王と祭司とを捨てられた。		2:6 He has violently taken away his tabernacle, as if it were of a garden; he has destroyed his place of assembly: Yahweh has caused solemn assembly and Sabbath to be forgotten in Zion, Has despised in the indignation of his anger the king and the priest.
2:7主はその祭壇を忌み、その聖所をきらって、もろもろの宮殿の石がきを敵の手に渡された。彼らは祭の日のように、主の宮で声をあげた。		2:7 The Lord has cast off his altar, he has abhorred his sanctuary; He has given up into the hand of the enemy the walls of her palaces: They have made a noise in the house of Yahweh, as in the day of a solemn assembly.
2:8主はシオンの娘の城壁を破壊しようと思い定めて、なわを張り、打ちこわして、その手をひかず、城壁と石がきとを悲しませられた。これらは共に衰える。		2:8 Yahweh has purposed to destroy the wall of the daughter of Zion; He has stretched out the line, he has not withdrawn his hand from destroying; He has made the rampart and wall to lament; they languish together.
2:9その門は地にうずもれ、主はその貫の木をこわし砕かれた。その王と君たちはもろもろの国民の中におり、もはや律法はなく、またその預言者は主から幻を得ない。		2:9 Her gates are sunk into the ground; he has destroyed and broken her bars: Her king and her princes are among the nations where the law is not; Yes, her prophets find no vision from Yahweh.
2:10シオンの娘の長老たちは地に座して黙し、頭にちりをかぶり、身に荒布をまとった。エルサレムのおとめたちはこうべを地にたれた。		2:10 The elders of the daughter of Zion sit on the ground, they keep silence; They have cast up dust on their heads; they have clothed themselves with sackcloth: The virgins of Jerusalem hang down their heads to the ground.
2:11わが目は涙のためにつぶれ、わがはらわたはわきかえり、わが肝はわが民の娘の滅びのために、地に注ぎ出される。幼な子や乳のみ子が町のちまたに息も絶えようとしているからである。		2:11 My eyes do fail with tears, my heart is troubled; My liver is poured on the earth, because of the destruction of the daughter of my people, Because the young children and the infants swoon in the streets of the city.
2:12彼らが、傷ついた者のように町のちまたで息も絶えようとするとき、その母のふところにその命を注ぎ出そうとするとき、母にむかって、「パンとぶどう酒とはどこにありますか」と叫ぶ。		2:12 They tell their mothers, Where is grain and wine? When they swoon as the wounded in the streets of the city, When their soul is poured out into their mothers' bosom.
2:13エルサレムの娘よ、わたしは何をあなたに言い、何にあなたを比べることができようか。シオンの娘なるおとめよ、わたしは何をもってあなたになぞらえて、あなたを慰めることができようか。あなたの破れは海のように大きい、だれがあなたをいやすことができようか。		2:13 What shall I testify to you? what shall I liken to you, daughter of Jerusalem? What shall I compare to you, that I may comfort you, virgin daughter of Zion? For your breach is great like the sea: who can heal you?
2:14あなたの預言者たちはあなたのために人を欺く偽りの幻を見た。彼らはあなたの不義をあらわして捕われを免れさせようとはせず、あなたのために人を迷わす偽りの託宣を見た。		2:14 Your prophets have seen for you false and foolish visions; They have not uncovered your iniquity, to bring back your captivity, but have seen for you false oracles and causes of banishment.
2:15すべて道行く人は、あなたにむかって手を打ち、エルサレムの娘にむかって、あざ笑い、かつ頭を振って言う、「麗しさのきわみ、全地の喜びととなえられた町はこれなのか」と。		2:15 All that pass by clap their hands at you. They hiss and wag their head at the daughter of Jerusalem, saying, Is this the city that men called The perfection of beauty, The joy of the whole earth?
2:16あなたのもろもろの敵は、あなたをののしり、あざ笑い、歯がみして言う、「われわれはこれを滅ぼした、ああ、これはわれわれが望んだ日だ、今われわれはこれにあい、これを見た」と。		2:16 All your enemies have opened their mouth wide against you; They hiss and gnash the teeth; they say, We have swallowed her up; Certainly this is the day that we looked for; we have found, we have seen it.
2:17主はその計画されたことを行い、警告されたことをなし遂げ、いにしえから命じておかれたように、滅ぼして、あわれむことをせず、あなたについて敵を喜ばせ、あなたのあだの力を高められた。		2:17 Yahweh has done that which he purposed; he has fulfilled his word that he commanded in the days of old; He has thrown down, and has not pitied: He has caused the enemy to rejoice over you; he has exalted the horn of your adversaries.
2:18シオンの娘よ、声高らかに主に呼ばわれ、夜も昼も川のように涙を流せ。みずから安んじることをせず、あなたのひとみを休ませるな。		2:18 Their heart cried to the Lord: wall of the daughter of Zion, let tears run down like a river day and night; Give yourself no respite; don't let the apple of your eye cease.
2:19夜、初更に起きて叫べ。主の前にあなたの心を水のように注ぎ出せ。町のかどで、飢えて息も絶えようとする幼な子の命のために、主にむかって両手をあげよ。		2:19 Arise, cry out in the night, at the beginning of the watches; Pour out your heart like water before the face of the Lord: Lift up your hands toward him for the life of your young children, that faint for hunger at the head of every street.
2:20主よ、みそなわして、顧みてください。あなたはだれにむかってこのように行われたのですか。女は自分の産んだ子、その大事に育てた幼な子を食べるでしょうか。祭司と預言者が主の聖所で殺されていいでしょうか。		2:20 Look, Yahweh, and see to whom you have done thus! Shall the women eat their fruit, the children that are dandled in the hands? Shall the priest and the prophet be killed in the sanctuary of the Lord?
2:21老いも若きも、ちまたのちりに伏し、わがおとめも、若人も、つるぎで倒されてしまった。あなたは、その怒りの日にこれを殺し、これをほふって、あわれむことをされなかった。		2:21 The youth and the old man lie on the ground in the streets; My virgins and my young men are fallen by the sword: You have killed them in the day of your anger; you have slaughtered, and not pitied.
2:22あなたは、わたしの恐れるものを、祭の日のように四方から呼び集められた。主の怒りの日には、のがれた者も残った者もなかった。わたしが、いだき育てた者をわたしの敵は滅ぼし尽した。		2:22 You have called, as in the day of a solemn assembly, my terrors on every side; There was none that escaped or remained in the day of Yahweh's anger: Those that I have dandled and brought up has my enemy consumed.
3:1わたしは彼の怒りのむちによって、悩みにあった人である。		3:1 I am the man that has seen affliction by the rod of his wrath.
3:2彼はわたしをかり立てて、光のない暗い中を歩かせ、		3:2 He has led me and caused me to walk in darkness, and not in light.
3:3まことにその手をしばしばかえて、ひねもすわたしを攻められた。		3:3 Surely against me he turns his hand again and again all the day.
3:4彼はわが肉と皮を衰えさせ、わが骨を砕き、		3:4 My flesh and my skin has he made old; he has broken my bones.
3:5苦しみと悩みをもって、わたしを囲み、わたしを閉じこめ、		3:5 He has built against me, and surrounded me with gall and travail.
3:6遠い昔に死んだ者のように、暗い所に住まわせられた。		3:6 He has made me to dwell in dark places, as those that have been long dead.
3:7彼はわたしのまわりに、かきをめぐらして、出ることのできないようにし、重い鎖でわたしをつながれた。		3:7 He has walled me about, that I can't go forth; he has made my chain heavy.
3:8わたしは叫んで助けを求めたが、彼はわたしの祈をしりぞけ、		3:8 Yes, when I cry, and call for help, he shuts out my prayer.
3:9切り石をもって、わたしの行く道をふさぎ、わたしの道筋を曲げられた。		3:9 He has walled up my ways with cut stone; he has made my paths crooked.
3:10彼はわたしに対して待ち伏せするくまのように、潜み隠れるししのように、		3:10 He is to me as a bear lying in wait, as a lion in secret places.
3:11わが道を離れさせ、わたしを引き裂いて、見るかげもないみじめな者とし、		3:11 He has turned aside my ways, and pulled me in pieces; he has made me desolate.
3:12その弓を張って、わたしを矢の的のようにされた。		3:12 He has bent his bow, and set me as a mark for the arrow.
3:13彼はその箙の矢をわたしの心臓に打ち込まれた。		3:13 He has caused the shafts of his quiver to enter into my kidneys.
3:14わたしはすべての民の物笑いとなり、ひねもす彼らの歌となった。		3:14 I am become a derision to all my people, and their song all the day.
3:15彼はわたしを苦い物で飽かせ、にがよもぎをわたしに飲ませられた。		3:15 He has filled me with bitterness, he has sated me with wormwood.
3:16彼は小石をもって、わたしの歯を砕き、灰の中にわたしをころがされた。		3:16 He has also broken my teeth with gravel stones; he has covered me with ashes.
3:17わが魂は平和を失い、わたしは幸福を忘れた。		3:17 You have removed my soul far off from peace; I forgot prosperity.
3:18そこでわたしは言った、「わが栄えはうせ去り、わたしが主に望むところのものもうせ去った」と。		3:18 I said, My strength is perished, and my expectation from Yahweh.
3:19どうか、わが悩みと苦しみ、にがよもぎと胆汁とを心に留めてください。		3:19 Remember my affliction and my misery, the wormwood and the gall.
3:20わが魂は絶えずこれを思って、わがうちにうなだれる。		3:20 My soul still remembers them, and is bowed down within me.
3:21しかし、わたしはこの事を心に思い起す。それゆえ、わたしは望みをいだく。		3:21 This I recall to my mind; therefore have I hope.
3:22主のいつくしみは絶えることがなく、そのあわれみは尽きることがない。		3:22 It is because of Yahweh's loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn't fail.
3:23これは朝ごとに新しく、あなたの真実は大きい。		3:23 They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
3:24わが魂は言う、「主はわたしの受くべき分である、それゆえ、わたしは彼を待ち望む」と。		3:24 Yahweh is my portion, says my soul; therefore will I hope in him.
3:25主はおのれを待ち望む者と、おのれを尋ね求める者にむかって恵みふかい。		3:25 Yahweh is good to those who wait for him, to the soul that seeks him.
3:26主の救を静かに待ち望むことは、良いことである。		3:26 It is good that a man should hope and quietly wait for the salvation of Yahweh.
3:27人が若い時にくびきを負うことは、良いことである。		3:27 It is good for a man that he bear the yoke in his youth.
3:28主がこれを負わせられるとき、ひとりすわって黙しているがよい。		3:28 Let him sit alone and keep silence, because he has laid it on him.
3:29口をちりにつけよ、あるいはなお望みがあるであろう。		3:29 Let him put his mouth in the dust, if so be there may be hope.
3:30おのれを撃つ者にほおを向け、満ち足りるまでに、はずかしめを受けよ。		3:30 Let him give his cheek to him who strikes him; let him be filled full with reproach.
3:31主はとこしえにこのような人を捨てられないからである。		3:31 For the Lord will not cast off forever.
3:32彼は悩みを与えられるが、そのいつくしみが豊かなので、またあわれみをたれられる。		3:32 For though he cause grief, yet he will have compassion according to the multitude of his loving kindnesses.
3:33彼は心から人の子を苦しめ悩ますことをされないからである。		3:33 For he does not afflict willingly, nor grieve the children of men.
3:34地のすべての捕われ人を足の下に踏みにじり、		3:34 To crush under foot all the prisoners of the earth,
3:35いと高き者の前に人の公義をまげ、		3:35 To turn aside the right of a man before the face of the Most High,
3:36人の訴えをくつがえすことは、主のよみせられないことである。		3:36 To subvert a man in his cause, the Lord doesn't approve.
3:37主が命じられたのでなければ、だれが命じて、その事の成ったことがあるか。		3:37 Who is he who says, and it comes to pass, when the Lord doesn't command it?
3:38災もさいわいも、いと高き者の口から出るではないか。		3:38 Doesn't evil and good come out of the mouth of the Most High?
3:39生ける人はどうしてつぶやかねばならないのか、人は自分の罪の罰せられるのを、つぶやくことができようか。		3:39 Why does a living man complain, a man for the punishment of his sins?
3:40われわれは、自分の行いを調べ、かつ省みて、主に帰ろう。		3:40 Let us search and try our ways, and turn again to Yahweh.
3:41われわれは天にいます神にむかって、手と共に心をもあげよう。		3:41 Let us lift up our heart with our hands to God {The Hebrew word rendered "God" is "Elohim."} in the heavens.
3:42「わたしたちは罪を犯し、そむきました、あなたはおゆるしになりませんでした。		3:42 We have transgressed and have rebelled; you have not pardoned.
3:43あなたは怒りをもってご自分をおおい、わたしたちを追い攻め、殺して、あわれまず、		3:43 You have covered with anger and pursued us; you have killed, you have not pitied.
3:44また雲をもってご自分をおおい、祈を通じないようにし、		3:44 You have covered yourself with a cloud, so that no prayer can pass through.
3:45もろもろの民の中に、わたしたちをちりあくたとなさいました。		3:45 You have made us an off-scouring and refuse in the midst of the peoples.
3:46敵はみなわたしたちをののしり、		3:46 All our enemies have opened their mouth wide against us.
3:47恐れと落し穴と、荒廃と滅亡とが、わたしたちに臨みました。		3:47 Fear and the pit have come on us, devastation and destruction.
3:48わが民の娘の滅びによって、わたしの目には涙の川が流れています。		3:48 My eye runs down with streams of water, for the destruction of the daughter of my people.
3:49わが目は絶えず涙を注ぎ出して、やむことなく、		3:49 My eye pours down, and doesn't cease, without any intermission,
3:50主が天から見おろして、顧みられる時にまで及ぶでしょう。		3:50 Until Yahweh look down, and see from heaven.
3:51わが目はわが町のすべての娘の最期のゆえに、わたしを痛ませます。		3:51 My eye affects my soul, because of all the daughters of my city.
3:52ゆえなくわたしに敵する者どもによって、わたしは鳥のように追われました。		3:52 They have chased me relentlessly like a bird, those who are my enemies without cause.
3:53彼らは生きているわたしを穴の中に投げ入れ、わたしの上に石を投げつけました。		3:53 They have cut off my life in the dungeon, and have cast a stone on me.
3:54水はわたしの頭の上にあふれ、わたしは『断ち滅ぼされた』と言いました。		3:54 Waters flowed over my head; I said, I am cut off.
3:55主よ、わたしは深い穴からみ名を呼びました。		3:55 I called on your name, Yahweh, out of the lowest dungeon.

3:58主よ、あなたはわが訴えを取りあげて、わたしの命をあがなわれました。		3:58 Lord, you have pleaded the causes of my soul; you have redeemed my life.
3:59主よ、あなたはわたしがこうむった不義をごらんになりました。わたしの訴えをおさばきください。		3:59 Yahweh, you have seen my wrong. Judge my cause.
3:60あなたはわたしに対する彼らの報復と、陰謀とを、ことごとくごらんになりました。		3:60 You have seen all their vengeance and all their devices against me.
3:61主よ、あなたはわたしに対する彼らのそしりと、陰謀とを、ことごとく聞かれました。		3:61 You have heard their reproach, Yahweh, and all their devices against me,
3:62立ってわたしに逆らう者どものくちびると、その思いは、ひねもすわたしを攻めています。		3:62 The lips of those that rose up against me, and their device against me all the day.
3:63どうか、彼らのすわるをも、立つをも、みそなわしてください。わたしは彼らの歌となっています。		3:63 You see their sitting down, and their rising up; I am their song.
3:64主よ、彼らの手のわざにしたがって、彼らに報い、		3:64 You will render to them a recompense, Yahweh, according to the work of their hands.
3:65彼らの心をかたくなにし、あなたののろいを彼らに注いでください。		3:65 You will give them hardness of heart, your curse to them.
3:66主よ、怒りをもって彼らを追い、天が下から彼らを滅ぼしてください」。		3:66 You will pursue them in anger, and destroy them from under the heavens of Yahweh.
4:1ああ、黄金は光を失い、純金は色を変じ、聖所の石はすべてのちまたのかどに投げ捨てられた。		4:1 How the gold has become dim! The most pure gold has changed! The stones of the sanctuary are poured out at the head of every street.
4:2ああ、精金にも比すべきシオンのいとし子らは、陶器師の手のわざである土の器のようにみなされる。		4:2 The precious sons of Zion, comparable to fine gold, How are they esteemed as earthen pitchers, the work of the hands of the potter!
4:3山犬さえも乳ぶさをたれて、その子に乳を飲ませる。ところが、わが民の娘は、荒野のだちょうのように無慈悲になった。		4:3 Even the jackals draw out the breast, they nurse their young ones: The daughter of my people has become cruel, like the ostriches in the wilderness.
4:4乳のみ子の舌はかわいて、上あごに、ひたとつき、幼な子らはパンを求めても、これに与える者がない。		4:4 The tongue of the nursing child clings to the roof of his mouth for thirst: The young children ask bread, and no man breaks it to them.
4:5うまい物を食べていた者は、落ちぶれて、ちまたにおり、紫の着物で育てられた者も、今は灰だまりの上に伏している。		4:5 Those who fed delicately are desolate in the streets: Those who were brought up in scarlet embrace dunghills.
4:6わが民の娘のうけた懲らしめは、ソドムの罰よりも大きかった。ソドムは昔、人の手によらないで、またたくまに滅ぼされたのだ。		4:6 For the iniquity of the daughter of my people is greater than the sin of Sodom, That was overthrown as in a moment, and no hands were laid on her.
4:7わが民の君たちは雪よりも清らかに、乳よりも白く、そのからだは、さんごよりも赤く、その姿の美しさはサファイヤのようであった。		4:7 Her nobles were purer than snow, they were whiter than milk; They were more ruddy in body than rubies, their polishing was as of sapphire.
4:8今はその顔はすすよりも黒く、町の中にいても人に知られず、その皮膚は縮んで骨につき、かわいて枯れ木のようになった。		4:8 Their appearance is blacker than a coal; they are not known in the streets: Their skin clings to their bones; it is withered, it has become like a stick.
4:9つるぎで殺される者は、飢えて死ぬ者よりもさいわいである。彼らは田畑の産物の欠乏によって、刺された者のように衰え行くからである。		4:9 Those who are killed with the sword are better than those who are killed with hunger; For these pine away, stricken through, for want of the fruits of the field.
4:10わが民の娘の滅びる時には情深い女たちさえも、手ずから自分の子どもを煮て、それを食物とした。		4:10 The hands of the pitiful women have boiled their own children; They were their food in the destruction of the daughter of my people.
4:11主はその憤りをことごとく漏らし、激しい怒りをそそぎ、シオンに火を燃やして、その礎までも焼き払われた。		4:11 Yahweh has accomplished his wrath, he has poured out his fierce anger; He has kindled a fire in Zion, which has devoured its foundations.
4:12地の王たちも、世の民らもみな、エルサレムの門に、あだや敵が、討ち入ろうとは信じなかった。		4:12 The kings of the earth didn't believe, neither all the inhabitants of the world, That the adversary and the enemy would enter into the gates of Jerusalem.
4:13これはその預言者たちの罪のため、その祭司たちの不義のためであった。彼らは義人の血をその町の中に流した者である。		4:13 It is because of the sins of her prophets, and the iniquities of her priests, That have shed the blood of the just in the midst of her.

4:15人々は彼らにむかって、「去れよ、けがらわしい」、「去れよ、去れよ、さわるな」と叫んだので、彼らは逃げ去って放浪者となったが、異邦人の中でも人々は「もうわれわれのうちに宿ってはならない」と言った。		4:15 Depart! they cried to them, Unclean! depart, depart, don't touch! When they fled away and wandered, men said among the nations, They shall not live here any more.
4:16主はみずから彼らを散らして、再び彼らを顧みず、祭司を尊ばず、長老をいたわられなかった。		4:16 The anger of Yahweh has scattered them; he will no more regard them: They didn't respect the persons of the priests, they didn't favor the elders.
4:17われわれの目は、むなしく助けを待ち望んで疲れ衰えた。われわれは待ち望んだが、救を与え得ない国びとを待ち望んだ。		4:17 Our eyes still fail, looking in vain for our help: In our watching we have watched for a nation that could not save.
4:18人々がわれわれの歩みをうかがうので、われわれは自分の町の中をも、歩くことができなかった。われわれの終りは近づいた、日は尽きた。われわれの終りが来たからである。		4:18 They hunt our steps, so that we can't go in our streets: Our end is near, our days are fulfilled; for our end has come.
4:19われわれを追う者は空のはげたかよりも速く、彼らは山でわれわれを追い立て、野でわれわれを待ち伏せる。		4:19 Our pursuers were swifter than the eagles of the sky: They chased us on the mountains, they laid wait for us in the wilderness.
4:20われわれが鼻の息とたのんだ者、主に油そそがれた者は、彼らの落し穴で捕えられた。彼はわれわれが「異邦人の中でもその陰に生きるであろう」と思った者である。		4:20 The breath of our nostrils, the anointed of Yahweh, was taken in their pits; Of whom we said, Under his shadow we shall live among the nations.
4:21ウズの地に住むエドムの娘よ、喜び楽しめ、あなたにもまた杯がめぐって行く、あなたも酔って裸になる。		4:21 Rejoice and be glad, daughter of Edom, that dwell in the land of Uz: The cup shall pass through to you also; you shall be drunken, and shall make yourself naked.
4:22シオンの娘よ、あなたの不義の罰は終った。主は重ねてあなたを捕え移されない。エドムの娘よ、主はあなたの不義を罰し、あなたの罪をあらわされる。		4:22 The punishment of your iniquity is accomplished, daughter of Zion; he will no more carry you away into captivity: He will visit your iniquity, daughter of Edom; he will uncover your sins.
5:1主よ、われわれに臨んだ事を覚えてください。われわれのはずかしめを顧みてください。		5:1 Remember, Yahweh, what has come on us: Look, and see our reproach.
5:2われわれの嗣業は他国の人に移り、家は異邦人のものとなった。		5:2 Our inheritance is turned to strangers, Our houses to aliens.
5:3われわれはみなしごとなって父はなく、母はやもめにひとしい。		5:3 We are orphans and fatherless; Our mothers are as widows.
5:4われわれは金を出して水を飲み、価を払って、たきぎを獲なければならない。		5:4 We have drunken our water for money; Our wood is sold to us.
5:5われわれは首にくびきをかけられて追い使われ、疲れても休むことができない。		5:5 Our pursuers are on our necks: We are weary, and have no rest.
5:6われわれは足りるだけの食物を獲るために、エジプトおよびアッスリヤに手をさし伸べた。		5:6 We have given the hand to the Egyptians, To the Assyrians, to be satisfied with bread.
5:7われわれの先祖は罪を犯して、すでに世になく、われわれはその不義の責めを負っている。		5:7 Our fathers sinned, and are no more; We have borne their iniquities.
5:8奴隷であった者がわれわれを治めるが、われわれをその手から救い出す者がない。		5:8 Servants rule over us: There is none to deliver us out of their hand.
5:9われわれは荒野のつるぎのゆえに、おのが命をかけて食物を獲る。		5:9 We get our bread at the peril of our lives, Because of the sword of the wilderness.
5:10われわれの皮膚は飢餓の激しい熱のために、炉のように熱い。		5:10 Our skin is black like an oven, Because of the burning heat of famine.
5:11女たちはシオンで犯され、おとめたちはユダの町々で汚された。		5:11 They ravished the women in Zion, The virgins in the cities of Judah.
5:12君たる者も彼らの手でつるされ、長老たちも尊ばれず、		5:12 Princes were hanged up by their hand: The faces of elders were not honored.
5:13若者たちは、ひきうすをになわせられ、わらべたちは、たきぎを負って、よろめき、		5:13 The young men bare the mill; The children stumbled under the wood.
5:14長老たちは門に集まることをやめ、若者たちはその音楽を廃した。		5:14 The elders have ceased from the gate, The young men from their music.
5:15われわれの心の喜びはやみ、踊りは悲しみに変り、		5:15 The joy of our heart is ceased; Our dance is turned into mourning.
5:16われわれの冠はこうべから落ちた。わざわいなるかな、われわれは罪を犯したからである。		5:16 The crown is fallen from our head: Woe to us! for we have sinned.
5:17このために、われわれの心は衰え、これらの事のために、われわれの目はくらくなった。		5:17 For this our heart is faint; For these things our eyes are dim;
5:18シオンの山は荒れはて、山犬がその上を歩いているからである。		5:18 For the mountain of Zion, which is desolate: The foxes walk on it.
5:19しかし主よ、あなたはとこしえに統べ治められる。あなたの、み位は世々絶えることがない。		5:19 You, Yahweh, remain forever; Your throne is from generation to generation.
5:20なぜ、あなたはわれわれをながく忘れ、われわれを久しく捨ておかれるのですか。		5:20 Why do you forget us forever, And forsake us so long time?
5:21主よ、あなたに帰らせてください、われわれは帰ります。われわれの日を新たにして、いにしえの日のようにしてください。		5:21 Turn us to yourself, Yahweh, and we shall be turned. Renew our days as of old.
5:22あなたは全くわれわれを捨てられたのですか、はなはだしく怒っていられるのですか。		5:22 But you have utterly rejected us; You are very angry against us.
