1:8ハムの子らはクシ、エジプト、プテ、カナン。 1:8 The sons of Ham: Cush, and Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.
1:9クシの子らはセバ、ハビラ、サブタ、ラアマ、サブテカ。ラアマの子らはシバとデダン。 1:9 The sons of Cush: Seba, and Havilah, and Sabta, and Raama, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah: Sheba, and Dedan.
1:10クシはニムロデを生んだ。ニムロデは初めて世の権力ある者となった。 1:10 Cush became the father of Nimrod; he began to be a mighty one in the earth.
1:11エジプトはルデびと、アナムびと、レハブびと、ナフトびと、 1:11 Mizraim became the father of Ludim, and Anamim, and Lehabim, and Naphtuhim,
1:12パテロスびと、カスルびと、カフトルびとを生んだ。カフトルびとからペリシテびとが出た。 1:12 and Pathrusim, and Casluhim (where the Philistines came from), and Caphtorim.
1:13カナンは長子シドンとヘテを生んだ。 1:13 Canaan became the father of Sidon his firstborn, and Heth,
1:14またエブスびと、アモリびと、ギルガシびと、 1:14 and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite,
1:15ヒビびと、アルキびと、セニびと、 1:15 and the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,
1:16アルワデびと、ゼマリびと、ハマテびとを生んだ。 1:16 and the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite.
1:17セムの子らはエラム、アシュル、アルパクサデ、ルデ、アラム、ウズ、ホル、ゲテル、メセクである。 1:17 The sons of Shem: Elam, and Asshur, and Arpachshad, and Lud, and Aram, and Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Meshech.
1:18アルパクサデはシラを生み、シラはエベルを生んだ。 1:18 Arpachshad became the father of Shelah, and Shelah became the father of Eber.
1:19エベルにふたりの子が生れた。ひとりの名はペレグ 彼の代に地の民が散り分れたからである その弟の名はヨクタンといった。 1:19 To Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg; for in his days the earth was divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.
1:20ヨクタンはアルモダデ、シャレフ、ハザル・マウテ、エラ、 1:20 Joktan became the father of Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,
1:21ハドラム、ウザル、デクラ、 1:21 and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,
1:22エバル、アビマエル、シバ、 1:22 and Ebal, and Abimael, and Sheba,
1:23オフル、ハビラ、ヨバブを生んだ。これらはみなヨクタンの子である。 1:23 and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab. All these were the sons of Joktan.
1:24セム、アルパクサデ、シラ、 1:24 Shem, Arpachshad, Shelah,
1:25エベル、ペレグ、リウ、 1:25 Eber, Peleg, Reu,
1:26セルグ、ナホル、テラ、 1:26 Serug, Nahor, Terah,
1:27アブラムすなわちアブラハムである。 1:27 Abram (the same is Abraham).
1:28アブラハムの子らはイサクとイシマエルである。 1:28 The sons of Abraham: Isaac, and Ishmael.
1:29彼らの子孫は次のとおりである。イシマエルの長子はネバヨテ、次はケダル、アデビエル、ミブサム、 1:29 These are their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth; then Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam,
1:30ミシマ、ドマ、マッサ、ハダデ、テマ、 1:30 Mishma, and Dumah, Massa, Hadad, and Tema,
1:31エトル、ネフシ、ケデマ。これらはイシマエルの子孫である。 1:31 Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These are the sons of Ishmael.
1:32アブラハムのそばめケトラの子孫は次のとおりである。彼女はジムラン、ヨクシャン、メダン、ミデアン、イシバク、シュワを産んだ。ヨクシャンの子らはシバとデダンである。 1:32 The sons of Keturah, Abraham's concubine: she bore Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. The sons of Jokshan: Sheba, and Dedan.
1:33ミデアンの子らはエパ、エペル、ヘノク、アビダ、エルダア。これらはみなケトラの子孫である。 1:33 The sons of Midian: Ephah, and Epher, and Hanoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the sons of Keturah.
1:34アブラハムはイサクを生んだ。イサクの子らはエサウとイスラエル。 1:34 Abraham became the father of Isaac. The sons of Isaac: Esau, and Israel.
1:35エサウの子らはエリパズ、リウエル、エウシ、ヤラム、コラ。 1:35 The sons of Esau: Eliphaz, Reuel, and Jeush, and Jalam, and Korah.
1:36エリパズの子らはテマン、オマル、ゼピ、ガタム、ケナズ、テムナ、アマレク。 1:36 The sons of Eliphaz: Teman, and Omar, Zephi, and Gatam, Kenaz, and Timna, and Amalek.
1:37リウエルの子らはナハテ、ゼラ、シャンマ、ミッザ。 1:37 The sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.
1:38セイルの子らはロタン、ショバル、ヂベオン、アナ、デション、エゼル、デシャン。 1:38 The sons of Seir: Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah, and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan.
1:39ロタンの子らはホリとホマム。ロタンの妹はテムナ。 1:39 The sons of Lotan: Hori, and Homam; and Timna was Lotan's sister.
1:40ショバルの子らはアルヤン、マナハテ、エバル、シピ、オナム。ヂベオンの子らはアヤとアナ。 1:40 The sons of Shobal: Alian, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shephi, and Onam. The sons of Zibeon: Aiah, and Anah.
1:41アナの子はデション。デションの子らはハムラン、エシバン、イテラン、ケラン。 1:41 The sons of Anah: Dishon. The sons of Dishon: Hamran, and Eshban, and Ithran, and Cheran.
1:42エゼルの子らはビルハン、ザワン、ヤカン。デシャンの子らはウズとアラン。 1:42 The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, and Zaavan, Jaakan. The sons of Dishan: Uz, and Aran.
1:43イスラエルの人々を治める王がまだなかった時、エドムの地を治めた王たちは次のとおりである。ベオルの子ベラ。その都の名はデナバといった。 1:43 Now these are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom, before there reigned any king over the children of Israel: Bela the son of Beor; and the name of his city was Dinhabah.
1:44ベラが死んで、ボズラのゼラの子ヨバブが代って王となった。 1:44 Bela died, and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his place.
1:45ヨバブが死んで、テマンびとの地のホシャムが代って王となった。 1:45 Jobab died, and Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his place.
1:46ホシャムが死んで、ベダテの子ハダデが代って王となった。彼はモアブの野でミデアンを撃った。彼の都の名はアビテといった。 1:46 Husham died, and Hadad the son of Bedad, who struck Midian in the field of Moab, reigned in his place; and the name of his city was Avith.
1:47ハダデが死んで、マスレカのサムラが代って王となった。 1:47 Hadad died, and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his place.
1:48サムラが死んで、ユフラテ川のほとりのレホボテのサウルが代って王となった。 1:48 Samlah died, and Shaul of Rehoboth by the River reigned in his place.
1:49サウルが死んで、アクボルの子バアル・ハナンが代って王となった。 1:49 Shaul died, and Baal Hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his place.
1:50バアル・ハナンが死んで、ハダデが代って王となった。彼の都の名はパイといった。彼の妻はマテレデの娘であって、名をメヘタベルといった。マテレデはメザハブの娘である。 1:50 Baal Hanan died, and Hadad reigned in his place; and the name of his city was Pai: and his wife's name was Mehetabel, the daughter of Matred, the daughter of Mezahab.
1:51ハダデも死んだ。エドムの族長は、テムナ侯、アルヤ侯、エテテ侯、 1:51 Hadad died. The chiefs of Edom were: chief Timna, chief Aliah, chief Jetheth,
1:52アホリバマ侯、エラ侯、ピノン侯、 1:52 chief Oholibamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon,
1:53ケナズ侯、テマン侯、ミブザル侯、 1:53 chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar,
1:54マグデエル侯、イラム侯。これらはエドムの族長である。 1:54 chief Magdiel, chief Iram. These are the chiefs of Edom.
2:1イスラエルの子らは次のとおりである。ルベン、シメオン、レビ、ユダ、イッサカル、ゼブルン、 2:1 These are the sons of Israel: Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun,
2:2ダン、ヨセフ、ベニヤミン、ナフタリ、ガド、アセル。 2:2 Dan, Joseph, and Benjamin, Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.
2:3ユダの子らはエル、オナン、シラである。この三人はカナンの女バテシュアがユダによって産んだ者である。ユダの長子エルは主の前に悪を行ったので、主は彼を殺された。 2:3 The sons of Judah: Er, and Onan, and Shelah; which three were born to him of Shua's daughter the Canaanitess. Er, Judah's firstborn, was wicked in the sight of Yahweh; {"Yahweh" is God's proper Name, sometimes rendered "LORD" (all caps) in other translations.} and he killed him.
2:4ユダの嫁タマルはユダによってペレヅとゼラを産んだ。ユダの子らは合わせて五人である。 2:4 Tamar his daughter-in-law bore him Perez and Zerah. All the sons of Judah were five.
2:5ペレヅの子らはヘヅロンとハムル。 2:5 The sons of Perez: Hezron, and Hamul.
2:6ゼラの子らはジムリ、エタン、ヘマン、カルコル、ダラで、合わせて五人である。 2:6 The sons of Zerah: Zimri, and Ethan, and Heman, and Calcol, and Dara; five of them in all.
2:7カルミの子はアカル。アカルは奉納物について罪を犯し、イスラエルを悩ました者である。 2:7 The sons of Carmi: Achar, the troubler of Israel, who committed a trespass in the devoted thing.
2:8エタンの子はアザリヤである。 2:8 The sons of Ethan: Azariah.
2:9ヘヅロンに生れた子らはエラメル、ラム、ケルバイである。 2:9 The sons also of Hezron, who were born to him: Jerahmeel, and Ram, and Chelubai.
2:10ラムはアミナダブを生み、アミナダブはユダの子孫のつかさナションを生んだ。 2:10 Ram became the father of Amminadab, and Amminadab became the father of Nahshon, prince of the children of Judah;
2:11ナションはサルマを生み、サルマはボアズを生み、 2:11 and Nahshon became the father of Salma, and Salma became the father of Boaz,
2:12ボアズはオベデを生み、オベデはエッサイを生んだ。 2:12 and Boaz became the father of Obed, and Obed became the father of Jesse;
2:13エッサイは長子エリアブ、次にアビナダブ、第三にシメア、 2:13 and Jesse became the father of his firstborn Eliab, and Abinadab the second, and Shimea the third,
2:14第四にネタンエル、第五にラダイ、 2:14 Nethanel the fourth, Raddai the fifth,
2:15第六にオゼム、第七にダビデを生んだ。 2:15 Ozem the sixth, David the seventh;
2:16彼らの姉妹はゼルヤとアビガイルである。ゼルヤの産んだ子はアビシャイ、ヨアブ、アサヘルの三人である。 2:16 and their sisters were Zeruiah and Abigail. The sons of Zeruiah: Abishai, and Joab, and Asahel, three.
2:17アビガイルはアマサを産んだ。アマサの父はイシマエルびとエテルである。 2:17 Abigail bore Amasa; and the father of Amasa was Jether the Ishmaelite.
2:18ヘヅロンの子カレブはその妻アズバおよびエリオテによって子をもうけた。その子らはエシル、ショバブ、アルドンである。 2:18 Caleb the son of Hezron became the father of children of Azubah his wife, and of Jerioth; and these were her sons: Jesher, and Shobab, and Ardon.
2:19カレブはアズバが死んだのでエフラタをめとった。エフラタはカレブによってホルを産んだ。 2:19 Azubah died, and Caleb took to him Ephrath, who bore him Hur.
2:20ホルはウリを生み、ウリはベザレルを生んだ。 2:20 Hur became the father of Uri, and Uri became the father of Bezalel.
2:21そののちヘヅロンはギレアデの父マキルの娘の所にはいった。彼が彼女をめとったときは六十歳であった。彼女はヘヅロンによってセグブを産んだ。 2:21 Afterward Hezron went in to the daughter of Machir the father of Gilead, whom he took as wife when he was sixty years old; and she bore him Segub.
2:22セグブはヤイルを生んだ。ヤイルはギレアデの地に二十三の町をもっていた。 2:22 Segub became the father of Jair, who had twenty-three cities in the land of Gilead.
2:23しかしゲシュルとアラムは彼らからハボテ・ヤイルおよびケナテとその村里など合わせて六十の町を取った。これらはみなギレアデの父マキルの子孫であった。 2:23 Geshur and Aram took the towns of Jair from them, with Kenath, and its villages, even sixty cities. All these were the sons of Machir the father of Gilead.
2:24ヘヅロンが死んだのち、カレブは父ヘヅロンの妻エフラタの所にはいった。彼女は彼にテコアの父アシュルを産んだ。 2:24 After that Hezron was dead in Caleb Ephrathah, then Abijah Hezron's wife bore him Ashhur the father of Tekoa.
2:25ヘヅロンの長子エラメルの子らは長子ラム、次はブナ、オレン、オゼム、アヒヤである。 2:25 The sons of Jerahmeel the firstborn of Hezron were Ram the firstborn, and Bunah, and Oren, and Ozem, Ahijah.
2:26エラメルはまたほかの妻をもっていた。名をアタラといって、オナムの母である。 2:26 Jerahmeel had another wife, whose name was Atarah; she was the mother of Onam.
2:27エラメルの長子ラムの子らはマアツ、ヤミン、エケルである。 2:27 The sons of Ram the firstborn of Jerahmeel were Maaz, and Jamin, and Eker.
2:28オナムの子らはシャンマイとヤダである。シャンマイの子らはナダブとアビシュルである。 2:28 The sons of Onam were Shammai, and Jada. The sons of Shammai: Nadab, and Abishur.
2:29アビシュルの妻の名はアビハイルといって、アバンとモリデを産んだ。 2:29 The name of the wife of Abishur was Abihail; and she bore him Ahban, and Molid.
2:30ナダブの子らはセレデとアッパイムである。セレデは子をもたずに死んだ。 2:30 The sons of Nadab: Seled, and Appaim; but Seled died without children.
2:31アッパイムの子はイシ、イシの子はセシャン、セシャンの子はアヘライである。 2:31 The sons of Appaim: Ishi. The sons of Ishi: Sheshan. The sons of Sheshan: Ahlai.
2:32シャンマイの兄弟ヤダの子らはエテルとヨナタンである。エテルは子をもたずに死んだ。 2:32 The sons of Jada the brother of Shammai: Jether, and Jonathan; and Jether died without children.
2:33ヨナタンの子らはペレテとザザである。以上はエラメルの子孫である。 2:33 The sons of Jonathan: Peleth, and Zaza. These were the sons of Jerahmeel.
2:34セシャンには男の子はなく、ただ女の子のみであったが、彼はヤルハと呼ぶエジプトびとの奴隷をもっていたので、 2:34 Now Sheshan had no sons, but daughters. Sheshan had a servant, an Egyptian, whose name was Jarha.
2:35セシャンは娘を奴隷ヤルハに与えてその妻とさせた。彼女はヤルハによってアッタイを産んだ。 2:35 Sheshan gave his daughter to Jarha his servant as wife; and she bore him Attai.
2:36アッタイはナタンを生み、ナタンはザバデを生み、 2:36 Attai became the father of Nathan, and Nathan became the father of Zabad,
2:37ザバデはエフラルを生み、エフラルはオベデを生み、 2:37 and Zabad became the father of Ephlal, and Ephlal became the father of Obed,
2:38オベデはエヒウを生み、エヒウはアザリヤを生み、 2:38 and Obed became the father of Jehu, and Jehu became the father of Azariah,
2:39アザリヤはヘレヅを生み、ヘレヅはエレアサを生み、 2:39 and Azariah became the father of Helez, and Helez became the father of Eleasah,
2:40エレアサはシスマイを生み、シスマイはシャルムを生み、 2:40 and Eleasah became the father of Sismai, and Sismai became the father of Shallum,
2:41シャルムはエカミヤを生み、エカミヤはエリシャマを生んだ。 2:41 and Shallum became the father of Jekamiah, and Jekamiah became the father of Elishama.
2:42エラメルの兄弟であるカレブの子らは長子をマレシャといってジフの父である。マレシャの子はヘブロン。 2:42 The sons of Caleb the brother of Jerahmeel were Mesha his firstborn, who was the father of Ziph; and the sons of Mareshah the father of Hebron.
2:43ヘブロンの子らはコラ、タップア、レケム、シマである。 2:43 The sons of Hebron: Korah, and Tappuah, and Rekem, and Shema.
2:44シマはラハムを生んだ。ラハムはヨルカムの父である。またレケムはシャンマイを生んだ。 2:44 Shema became the father of Raham, the father of Jorkeam; and Rekem became the father of Shammai.
2:45シャンマイの子はマオン。マオンはベテヅルの父である。 2:45 The son of Shammai was Maon; and Maon was the father of Beth Zur.
2:46カレブのそばめエパはハラン、モザ、ガゼズを産んだ。ハランはガゼズを生んだ。 2:46 Ephah, Caleb's concubine, bore Haran, and Moza, and Gazez; and Haran became the father of Gazez.
2:47エダイの子らはレゲム、ヨタム、ゲシャン、ペレテ、エパ、シャフである。 2:47 The sons of Jahdai: Regem, and Jothan, and Geshan, and Pelet, and Ephah, and Shaaph.
2:48カレブのそばめマアカはシベルとテルハナを産み、 2:48 Maacah, Caleb's concubine, bore Sheber and Tirhanah.
2:49またマデマンナの父シャフおよびマクベナとギベアの父シワを産んだ。カレブの娘はアクサである。 2:49 She bore also Shaaph the father of Madmannah, Sheva the father of Machbena, and the father of Gibea; and the daughter of Caleb was Achsah.
2:50これらはカレブの子孫であった。エフラタの長子ホルの子らはキリアテ・ヤリムの父ショバル、 2:50 These were the sons of Caleb, the son of Hur, the firstborn of Ephrathah: Shobal the father of Kiriath Jearim,
2:51ベツレヘムの父サルマおよびベテガデルの父ハレフである。 2:51 Salma the father of Bethlehem, Hareph the father of Beth Gader.
2:52キリアテ・ヤリムの父ショバル子らはハロエとメヌコテびとの半ばである。 2:52 Shobal the father of Kiriath Jearim had sons: Haroeh, half of the Menuhoth.
2:53キリアテ・ヤリムの氏族はイテルびと、プテびと、シュマびと、ミシラびとであって、これらからザレアびとおよびエシタオルびとが出た。 2:53 The families of Kiriath Jearim: The Ithrites, and the Puthites, and the Shumathites, and the Mishraites; of them came the Zorathites and the Eshtaolites.
2:54サルマの子らはベツレヘム、ネトパびと、アタロテ・ベテ・ヨアブ、マナハテびとの半ばおよびゾリびとである。 2:54 The sons of Salma: Bethlehem, and the Netophathites, Atroth Beth Joab, and half of the Manahathites, the Zorites.
2:55またヤベヅに住んでいた書記の氏族テラテびと、シメアテびと、スカテびとである。これらはケニびとであってレカブの家の先祖ハマテから出た者である。 2:55 The families of scribes who lived at Jabez: the Tirathites, the Shimeathites, the Sucathites. These are the Kenites who came of Hammath, the father of the house of Rechab.
3:1ヘブロンで生れたダビデの子らは次のとおりである。長子はアムノンでエズレルびとアヒノアムから生れ、次はダニエルでカルメルびとアビガイルから生れ、 3:1 Now these were the sons of David, who were born to him in Hebron: the firstborn, Amnon, of Ahinoam the Jezreelitess; the second, Daniel, of Abigail the Carmelitess;
3:2第三はアブサロムでゲシュルの王タルマイの娘マアカの産んだ子、第四はアドニヤでハギテの産んだ子、 3:2 the third, Absalom the son of Maacah the daughter of Talmai king of Geshur; the fourth, Adonijah the son of Haggith;
3:3第五はシパテヤでアビタルから生れ、第六はイテレアムで、彼の妻エグラから生れた。 3:3 the fifth, Shephatiah of Abital; the sixth, Ithream by Eglah his wife:
3:4この六人はヘブロンで彼に生れた。ダビデがそこで王となっていたのは七年六か月、エルサレムで王となっていたのは三十三年であった。 3:4 six were born to him in Hebron; and there he reigned seven years and six months. In Jerusalem he reigned thirty-three years;
3:5エルサレムで生れたものは次のとおりである。すなわちシメア、ショバブ、ナタン、ソロモン。この四人はアンミエルの娘バテシュアから生れた。 3:5 and these were born to him in Jerusalem: Shimea, and Shobab, and Nathan, and Solomon, four, of Bathshua the daughter of Ammiel;
3:6またイブハル、エリシャマ、エリペレテ、 3:6 and Ibhar, and Elishama, and Eliphelet,
3:7ノガ、ネペグ、ヤピア、 3:7 and Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
3:8エリシャマ、エリアダ、エリペレテの九人、 3:8 and Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphelet, nine.
3:9これらはみなダビデの子である。このほかに、そばめどもの産んだ子らがあり、タマルは彼らの姉妹であった。 3:9 All these were the sons of David, besides the sons of the concubines; and Tamar was their sister.
3:10ソロモンの子はレハベアム、その子はアビヤ、その子はアサ、その子はヨシャパテ、 3:10 Solomon's son was Rehoboam, Abijah his son, Asa his son, Jehoshaphat his son,
3:11その子はヨラム、その子はアハジヤ、その子はヨアシ、 3:11 Joram his son, Ahaziah his son, Joash his son,
3:12その子はアマジヤ、その子はアザリヤ、その子はヨタム、 3:12 Amaziah his son, Azariah his son, Jotham his son,
3:13その子はアハズ、その子はヒゼキヤ、その子はマナセ、 3:13 Ahaz his son, Hezekiah his son, Manasseh his son,
3:14その子はアモン、その子はヨシヤ、 3:14 Amon his son, Josiah his son.
3:15ヨシヤの子らは長子ヨハナン、次はエホヤキム、第三はゼデキヤ、第四はシャルムである。 3:15 The sons of Josiah: the firstborn Johanan, the second Jehoiakim, the third Zedekiah, the fourth Shallum.
3:16エホヤキムの子孫はその子はエコニア、その子はゼデキヤである。 3:16 The sons of Jehoiakim: Jeconiah his son, Zedekiah his son.
3:17捕虜となったエコニヤの子らはその子シャルテル、 3:17 The sons of Jeconiah, the captive: Shealtiel his son,
3:18マルキラム、ペダヤ、セナザル、エカミア、ホシャマ、ネダビヤである。 3:18 and Malchiram, and Pedaiah, and Shenazzar, Jekamiah, Hoshama, and Nedabiah.

7:9その子孫のうち、その氏族の長として系図によって数えられた大勇士は二万二百人あった。 7:9 They were reckoned by genealogy, after their generations, heads of their fathers' houses, mighty men of valor, twenty thousand two hundred.

8:32およびミクロテ。ミクロテはシメアを生んだ。これらもまた兄弟たちと向かいあってエルサレムに住んだ。 8:32 Mikloth became the father of Shimeah. They also lived with their brothers in Jerusalem, over against their brothers.

8:39その兄弟エセクの子らは、長子はウラム、次はエウシ、第三はエリペレテである。 8:39 The sons of Eshek his brother: Ulam his firstborn, Jeush the second, and Eliphelet the third.
8:40ウラムの子らは大勇士で、よく弓を射る者であった。彼は多くの子と孫をもち、百五十人もあった。これらは皆ベニヤミンの子孫である。 8:40 The sons of Ulam were mighty men of valor, archers, and had many sons, and sons' sons, one hundred fifty. All these were of the sons of Benjamin.
9:1このようにすべてのイスラエルびとは系図によって数えられた。これらはイスラエルの列王紀にしるされている。ユダはその不信のゆえにバビロンに捕囚となった。 9:1 So all Israel were reckoned by genealogies; and behold, they are written in the book of the kings of Israel: and Judah was carried away captive to Babylon for their disobedience.
9:2その領地の町々に最初に住んだものはイスラエルびと、祭司、レビびとおよび宮に仕えるしもべたちであった。 9:2 Now the first inhabitants who lived in their possessions in their cities were Israel, the priests, the Levites, and the Nethinim.
9:3またエルサレムにはユダの子孫、ベニヤミンの子孫およびエフライムとマナセの子孫が住んでいた。 9:3 In Jerusalem lived of the children of Judah, and of the children of Benjamin, and of the children of Ephraim and Manasseh:
9:4すなわちユダの子ペレヅの子孫のうちではアミホデの子ウタイ。アミホデはオムリの子、オムリはイムリの子、イムリはバニの子である。 9:4 Uthai the son of Ammihud, the son of Omri, the son of Imri, the son of Bani, of the children of Perez the son of Judah.
9:5シロびとのうちでは長子アサヤとそのほかの子たち。 9:5 Of the Shilonites: Asaiah the firstborn, and his sons.
9:6ゼラの子孫のうちではユエルとその兄弟六百九十人。 9:6 Of the sons of Zerah: Jeuel, and their brothers, six hundred ninety.
9:7ベニヤミンの子孫のうちではハセヌアの子ホダビヤの子であるメシュラムの子サル、 9:7 Of the sons of Benjamin: Sallu the son of Meshullam, the son of Hodaviah, the son of Hassenuah,
9:8エロハムの子イブニヤ、ミクリの子であるウジの子エラおよびイブニヤの子リウエルの子であるシパテヤの子メシュラム、 9:8 and Ibneiah the son of Jeroham, and Elah the son of Uzzi, the son of Michri, and Meshullam the son of Shephatiah, the son of Reuel, the son of Ibnijah;

9:20エレアザルの子ピネハスが、むかし彼らのつかさであった。主は彼とともにおられた。 9:20 Phinehas the son of Eleazar was ruler over them in time past, and Yahweh was with him.
9:21メシレミヤの子ゼカリヤは会見の幕屋の門を守る者であった。 9:21 Zechariah the son of Meshelemiah was porter of the door of the Tent of Meeting.
9:22これらは皆選ばれて門を守る者で、合わせて二百十二人あった。彼らはその村々で系図によって数えられた者で、ダビデと先見者サムエルが彼らを職に任じたのである。 9:22 All these who were chosen to be porters in the thresholds were two hundred and twelve. These were reckoned by genealogy in their villages, whom David and Samuel the seer ordained in their office of trust.
9:23こうして彼らとその子孫は監守人として、主の家である幕屋の家の門をつかさどった。 9:23 So they and their children had the oversight of the gates of the house of Yahweh, even the house of the tent, by wards.
9:24門を守る者は東西南北の四方にいた。 9:24 On the four sides were the porters, toward the east, west, north, and south.
9:25またその村々にいる兄弟たちは七日ごとに代り、来て彼らを助けた。 9:25 Their brothers, in their villages, were to come in every seven days from time to time to be with them:
9:26門を守る者の長である四人のレビびとは神の家のもろもろの室と宝とをつかさどった。 9:26 for the four chief porters, who were Levites, were in an office of trust, and were over the rooms and over the treasuries in God's house.
9:27彼らは神の家を守る身であるから、そのまわりに宿った。そして朝ごとにこれを開くことをした。 9:27 They lodged around God's house, because that duty was on them; and to them pertained its opening morning by morning.

9:30また祭司のともがらのうちに香料を混ぜる者があった。 9:30 Some of the sons of the priests prepared the confection of the spices.
9:31コラびとシャルムの長子でレビびとのひとりであるマタテヤはせんべいを造る勤めをつかさどった。 9:31 Mattithiah, one of the Levites, who was the firstborn of Shallum the Korahite, had the office of trust over the things that were baked in pans.
9:32またコハテびとの子孫であるその兄弟たちのうちに供えのパンをつかさどって、安息日ごとにこれを整える者どもがあった。 9:32 Some of their brothers, of the sons of the Kohathites, were over the show bread, to prepare it every Sabbath.
9:33レビびとの氏族の長であるこれらの者は歌うたう者であって、宮のもろもろの室に住み、ほかの務はしなかった。彼らは日夜自分の務に従ったからである。 9:33 These are the singers, heads of fathers' households of the Levites, who lived in the rooms and were free from other service; for they were employed in their work day and night.
9:34これらはレビびとの歴代の氏族の長であって、かしらたる人々であった。彼らはエルサレムに住んだ。 9:34 These were heads of fathers' households of the Levites, throughout their generations, chief men: these lived at Jerusalem.

10:1さてペリシテびとはイスラエルと戦ったが、イスラエルの人々がペリシテびとの前から逃げ、ギルボア山で殺されて倒れたので、 10:1 Now the Philistines fought against Israel: and the men of Israel fled from before the Philistines, and fell down slain on Mount Gilboa.
10:2ペリシテびとはサウルとその子たちのあとを追い、サウルの子ヨナタン、アビナダブおよびマルキシュアを殺した。 10:2 The Philistines followed hard after Saul and after his sons; and the Philistines killed Jonathan, and Abinadab, and Malchishua, the sons of Saul.
10:3戦いは激しくサウルにおし迫り、射手の者どもがついにサウルを見つけたので、彼は射手の者どもに傷を負わされた。 10:3 The battle went hard against Saul, and the archers overtook him; and he was distressed by reason of the archers.

But his armor bearer would not; for he was terrified. Therefore Saul took his sword, and fell on it.
10:5武器を執る者はサウルの死んだのを見て、自分もまたつるぎの上に伏して死んだ。 10:5 When his armor bearer saw that Saul was dead, he likewise fell on his sword, and died.
10:6こうしてサウルと三人の子らおよびその家族は皆ともに死んだ。 10:6 So Saul died, and his three sons; and all his house died together.
10:7谷にいたイスラエルの人々は皆彼らの逃げるのを見、またサウルとその子らの死んだのを見て、町々をすてて逃げたので、ペリシテびとが来てそのうちに住んだ。 10:7 When all the men of Israel who were in the valley saw that they fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, they forsook their cities, and fled; and the Philistines came and lived in them.
10:8あくる日ペリシテびとは殺された者から、はぎ取るために来て、サウルとその子らのギルボア山に倒れているのを見、 10:8 It happened on the next day, when the Philistines came to strip the slain, that they found Saul and his sons fallen on Mount Gilboa.
10:9サウルをはいでその首と、よろいかぶとを取り、ペリシテびとの国の四方に人をつかわして、この良き知らせをその偶像と民に告げさせた。 10:9 They stripped him, and took his head, and his armor, and sent into the land of the Philistines all around, to carry the news to their idols, and to the people.
10:10そしてサウルのよろいかぶとを彼らの神の家に置き、首をダゴンの神殿にくぎづけにした。 10:10 They put his armor in the house of their gods, and fastened his head in the house of Dagon.
10:11しかしヤベシ・ギレアデの人々は皆ペリシテびとがサウルにしたことを聞いたので、 10:11 When all Jabesh Gilead heard all that the Philistines had done to Saul,
10:12勇士たちが皆立ち上がり、サウルのからだとその子らのからだをとって、これをヤベシに持って来て、ヤベシのかしの木の下にその骨を葬り、七日の間、断食した。 10:12 all the valiant men arose, and took away the body of Saul, and the bodies of his sons, and brought them to Jabesh, and buried their bones under the oak in Jabesh, and fasted seven days.
10:13こうしてサウルは主にむかって犯した罪のために死んだ。すなわち彼は主の言葉を守らず、また口寄せに問うことをして、 10:13 So Saul died for his trespass which he committed against Yahweh, because of the word of Yahweh, which he didn't keep; and also because he asked counsel of one who had a familiar spirit, to inquire,
10:14主に問うことをしなかった。それで主は彼を殺し、その国を移してエッサイの子ダビデに与えられた。 10:14 and didn't inquire of Yahweh: therefore he killed him, and turned the kingdom to David the son of Jesse.
11:1ここにイスラエルの人は皆ヘブロンにいるダビデのもとに集まって来て言った、「われわれは、あなたの骨肉です。 11:1 Then all Israel gathered themselves to David to Hebron, saying, "Behold, we are your bone and your flesh.
11:2先にサウルが王であった時にも、あなたはイスラエルを率いて出入りされました。そしてあなたの神、主はあなたに『あなたはわが民イスラエルを牧する者となり、わが民イスラエルの君となるであろう』と言われました」。 11:2 In times past, even when Saul was king, it was you who led out and brought in Israel. Yahweh your God said to you, 'You shall be shepherd of my people Israel, and you shall be prince over my people Israel.'"
11:3このようにイスラエルの長老が皆ヘブロンにいる王のもとに来たので、ダビデはヘブロンで主の前に彼らと契約を結んだ。そして彼らは、サムエルによって語られた主の言葉に従ってダビデに油を注ぎ、イスラエルの王とした。 11:3 So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before Yahweh; and they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of Yahweh by Samuel.
11:4ダビデとすべてのイスラエルはエルサレムへ行った。エルサレムはすなわちエブスであって、そこにはその地の住民であるエブスびとがいた。 11:4 David and all Israel went to Jerusalem (the same is Jebus); and the Jebusites, the inhabitants of the land, were there.
11:5エブスの住民はダビデに言った、「あなたはここにはいってはならない」。しかし、ダビデはシオンの要害を取った。これがすなわちダビデの町である。 11:5 The inhabitants of Jebus said to David, "You shall not come in here." Nevertheless David took the stronghold of Zion. The same is the city of David.
11:6この時ダビデは言った、「だれでも第一にエブスびとを撃つ者を、かしらとし、将とする」。ゼルヤの子ヨアブが第一にのぼっていったので、かしらとなった。 11:6 David said, "Whoever strikes the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain." Joab the son of Zeruiah went up first, and was made chief.
11:7そしてダビデがその要害に住んだので人々はこれをダビデの町と名づけた。 11:7 David lived in the stronghold; therefore they called it the city of David.
11:8ダビデはまたその町の周囲すなわちミロから四方に石がきを築き、ヨアブは町のほかの部分を繕った。 11:8 He built the city all around, from Millo even around; and Joab repaired the rest of the city.
11:9こうしてダビデはますます大いなる者となった。万軍の主が彼とともにおられたからである。 11:9 David grew greater and greater; for Yahweh of Armies was with him.
11:10ダビデの勇士のおもなものは次のとおりである。彼らはイスラエルのすべての人とともにダビデに力をそえて国を得させ、主がイスラエルについて言われた言葉にしたがって、彼を王とした人々である。 11:10 Now these are the chief of the mighty men whom David had, who showed themselves strong with him in his kingdom, together with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of Yahweh concerning Israel.
11:11ダビデの勇士の数は次のとおりである。すなわち三人の長であるハクモニびとの子ヤショベアム、彼はやりをふるって三百人に向かい、一度にこれを殺した者である。 11:11 This is the number of the mighty men whom David had: Jashobeam, the son of a Hachmonite, the chief of the thirty; he lifted up his spear against three hundred and killed them at one time.

11:13彼はダビデとともにパスダミムにいたが、ペリシテびとがそこに集まって来て戦った。そこに一面に大麦のはえた地所があった。民はペリシテびとの前から逃げた。 11:13 He was with David at Pasdammim, and there the Philistines were gathered together to battle, where there was a plot of ground full of barley; and the people fled from before the Philistines.
11:14しかし彼は地所の中に立ってこれを防ぎ、ペリシテびとを殺した。そして主は大いなる勝利を与えて彼らを救われた。 11:14 They stood in the midst of the plot, and defended it, and killed the Philistines; and Yahweh saved them by a great victory.
11:15三十人の長たちのうちの三人は下っていってアドラムのほらあなの岩の所にいるダビデのもとへ行った。時にペリシテびとの軍勢はレパイムの谷に陣を取っていた。 11:15 Three of the thirty chief men went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam; and the army of the Philistines were encamped in the valley of Rephaim.
11:16その時ダビデは要害におり、ペリシテびとの先陣はベツレヘムにあったが、 11:16 David was then in the stronghold, and the garrison of the Philistines was then in Bethlehem.
11:17ダビデはせつに望んで、「だれかベツレヘムの門のかたわらにある井戸の水をわたしに飲ませてくれるとよいのだが」と言った。 11:17 David longed, and said, "Oh that one would give me water to drink of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!"
11:18そこでその三人はペリシテびとの陣を突き通って、ベツレヘムの門のかたわらにある井戸の水をくみ取って、ダビデのもとに携えて来た。しかしダビデはそれを飲もうとはせず、それを主の前に注いで、 11:18 The three broke through the army of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but David would not drink of it, but poured it out to Yahweh,
11:19言った、「わが神よ、わたしは断じてこれをいたしません。命をかけて行ったこの人たちの血をどうしてわたしは飲むことができましょう。彼らは命をかけてこの水をとって来たのです」。それゆえ、ダビデはこの水を飲もうとはしなかった。三勇士はこのことをおこなった。 11:19 and said, "My God forbid it me, that I should do this! Shall I drink the blood of these men who have put their lives in jeopardy?" For they risked their lives to bring it. Therefore he would not drink it. The three mighty men did these things.

11:24エホヤダの子ベナヤは、これらの事を行って三勇士のほかに名を得た。 11:24 Benaiah the son of Jehoiada did these things, and had a name among the three mighty men.
11:25彼は三十人のうちに有名であったが、かの三人には及ばなかった。ダビデは彼を侍衛の長とした。 11:25 Behold, he was more honorable than the thirty, but he didn't attain to the three: and David set him over his guard.

12:14これらはガドの子孫で軍勢の長たる者、その最も小さい者でも百人に当り、その最も大いなる者は千人に当った。 12:14 These of the sons of Gad were captains of the army: he who was least was equal to one hundred, and the greatest to one thousand.
12:15正月、ヨルダンがその全岸にあふれたとき、彼らはこれを渡って、谷々にいる者をことごとく東に西に逃げ走らせた。 12:15 These are those who went over the Jordan in the first month, when it had overflowed all its banks; and they put to flight all them of the valleys, both toward the east, and toward the west.
12:16ベニヤミンとユダの子孫のうちの人々が要害に来て、ダビデについた。 12:16 There came of the children of Benjamin and Judah to the stronghold to David.
12:17ダビデは出て彼らを迎えて言った、「あなたがたが好意をもって、わたしを助けるために来たのならば、わたしの心もあなたがたと、ひとつになりましょう。しかし、わたしの手になんの悪事もないのに、もしあなたがたが、わたしを欺いて、敵に渡すためであるならば、われわれの先祖の神がどうぞみそなわして、あなたがたを責められますように」。 12:17 David went out to meet them, and answered them, "If you have come peaceably to me to help me, my heart shall be knit to you; but if you have come to betray me to my adversaries, since there is no wrong in my hands, may the God of our fathers look thereon, and rebuke it."

Then David received them, and made them captains of the band.
12:19さきにダビデがペリシテびとと共にサウルと戦おうと攻めて来たとき、マナセびと数人がダビデについた。（ただしダビデはついにペリシテびとを助けなかった。それはペリシテびとの君たちが相はかって、「彼はわれわれの首をとって、その主君サウルのもとに帰るであろう」と言って、彼を去らせたからである。） 12:19 Of Manasseh also there fell away some to David, when he came with the Philistines against Saul to battle; but they didn't help them; for the lords of the Philistines sent him away after consultation, saying, "He will fall away to his master Saul to the jeopardy of our heads."
12:20ダビデがチクラグへ行ったとき、マナセびとアデナ、ヨザバデ、エデアエル、ミカエル、ヨザバデ、エリウ、ヂルタイが彼についた。皆マナセびとの千人の長であった。 12:20 As he went to Ziklag, there fell to him of Manasseh, Adnah, and Jozabad, and Jediael, and Michael, and Jozabad, and Elihu, and Zillethai, captains of thousands who were of Manasseh.
12:21彼らはダビデを助けて敵軍に当った。彼らは皆大勇士で軍勢の長であった。 12:21 They helped David against the band of rovers: for they were all mighty men of valor, and were captains in the army.
12:22ダビデを助ける者が日に日に加わって、ついに大軍となり、神の軍勢のようになった。 12:22 For from day to day men came to David to help him, until there was a great army, like the army of God.
12:23主の言葉に従い、サウルの国をダビデに与えようとして、ヘブロンにいるダビデのもとに来た武装した軍隊の数は、次のとおりである。 12:23 These are the numbers of the heads of those who were armed for war, who came to David to Hebron, to turn the kingdom of Saul to him, according to the word of Yahweh.
12:24ユダの子孫で盾とやりをとり、武装した者六千八百人、 12:24 The children of Judah who bore shield and spear were six thousand and eight hundred, armed for war.
12:25シメオンの子孫で、よく戦う勇士七千百人、 12:25 Of the children of Simeon, mighty men of valor for the war, seven thousand and one hundred.
12:26レビの子孫からは四千六百人。 12:26 Of the children of Levi four thousand and six hundred.
12:27エホヤダはアロンの家のつかさで、彼に属する者は三千七百人。 12:27 Jehoiada was the leader of the household of Aaron; and with him were three thousand and seven hundred,
12:28ザドクは年若い勇士で、彼の氏族から出た将軍は二十二人。 12:28 and Zadok, a young man mighty of valor, and of his father's house twenty-two captains.
12:29サウルの同族、ベニヤミンの子孫からは三千人、ベニヤミンびとの多くはなおサウルの家に忠義をつくしていた。 12:29 Of the children of Benjamin, the brothers of Saul, three thousand: for hitherto the greatest part of them had kept their allegiance to the house of Saul.
12:30エフライムの子孫からは二万八百人、皆勇士で、その氏族の名ある人々であった。 12:30 Of the children of Ephraim twenty thousand eight hundred, mighty men of valor, famous men in their fathers' houses.
12:31マナセの半部族からは一万八千人、皆ダビデを王に立てようとして上って来て、名をつらねた者である。 12:31 Of the half-tribe of Manasseh eighteen thousand, who were mentioned by name, to come and make David king.
12:32イッサカルの子孫からはよく時勢に通じ、イスラエルのなすべきことをわきまえた人々が来た。その長たる者が二百人あって、その兄弟たちは皆その指揮に従った。 12:32 Of the children of Issachar, men who had understanding of the times, to know what Israel ought to do, their heads were two hundred; and all their brothers were at their commandment.
12:33ゼブルンからは五万人、皆訓練を経た軍隊で、もろもろの武具で身をよろい、一心にダビデを助けた者である。 12:33 Of Zebulun, such as were able to go out in the army, who could set the battle in array, with all kinds of instruments of war, fifty thousand, and who could command and were not of double heart.
12:34ナフタリからは将たる者一千人および盾とやりをとってこれに従う者三万七千人。 12:34 Of Naphtali one thousand captains, and with them with shield and spear thirty-seven thousand.
12:35ダンびとからは武装した者二万八千六百人。 12:35 Of the Danites who could set the battle in array, twenty-eight thousand six hundred.
12:36アセルからは戦いの備えをした熟練の者四万人。 12:36 Of Asher, such as were able to go out in the army, who could set the battle in array, forty thousand.
12:37またヨルダンのかなたルベンびと、ガドびと、マナセの半部族からはもろもろの武具で身をよろった者十二万人であった。 12:37 On the other side of the Jordan, of the Reubenites, and the Gadites, and of the half-tribe of Manasseh, with all kinds of instruments of war for the battle, one hundred twenty thousand.
12:38すべてこれらの戦いの備えをしたいくさびとらは真心をもってヘブロンに来て、ダビデを全イスラエルの王にしようとした。このほかのイスラエルびともまた、心をひとつにしてダビデを王にしようとした。 12:38 All these being men of war, who could order the battle array, came with a perfect heart to Hebron, to make David king over all Israel: and all the rest also of Israel were of one heart to make David king.
12:39彼らはヘブロンにダビデとともに三日いて、食い飲みした。その兄弟たちは彼らのために備えをしたからである。 12:39 They were there with David three days, eating and drinking; for their brothers had made preparation for them.
12:40また彼らに近い人々はイッサカル、ゼブルン、ナフタリなどの遠い所の者まで、ろば、らくだ、騾馬、牛などに食物を負わせて来た。すなわち麦粉の食物、干いちじく、干ぶどう、ぶどう酒、油、牛、羊などを多く携えて来た。これはイスラエルに喜びがあったからである。 12:40 Moreover those who were near to them, as far as Issachar and Zebulun and Naphtali, brought bread on donkeys, and on camels, and on mules, and on oxen, food of meal, cakes of figs, and clusters of raisins, and wine, and oil, and cattle, and sheep in abundance: for there was joy in Israel.
13:1ここにダビデは千人の長、百人の長などの諸将と相はかり、 13:1 David consulted with the captains of thousands and of hundreds, even with every leader.
13:2そしてダビデはイスラエルの全会衆に言った、「もし、このことをあなたがたがよしとし、われわれの神、主がこれを許されるならば、われわれは、イスラエルの各地に残っているわれわれの兄弟ならびに、放牧地の付いている町々にいる祭司とレビびとに、使をつかわし、われわれの所に呼び集めましょう。 13:2 David said to all the assembly of Israel, "If it seems good to you, and if it is of Yahweh our God, let us send abroad everywhere to our brothers who are left in all the land of Israel, with whom the priests and Levites are in their cities that have suburbs, that they may gather themselves to us;
13:3また神の箱をわれわれの所に移しましょう。われわれはサウルの世にはこれをおろそかにしたからです」。 13:3 and let us bring again the ark of our God to us. For we didn't seek it in the days of Saul."
13:4会衆は一同「そうしましょう」と言った。このことがすべての民の目に正しかったからである。 13:4 All the assembly said that they would do so; for the thing was right in the eyes of all the people.
13:5そこでダビデはキリアテ・ヤリムから神の箱を運んでくるため、エジプトのシホルからハマテの入口までのイスラエルをことごとく呼び集めた。 13:5 So David assembled all Israel together, from the Shihor the brook of Egypt even to the entrance of Hamath, to bring the ark of God from Kiriath Jearim.
13:6そしてダビデとすべてのイスラエルはバアラすなわちユダのキリアテ・ヤリムに上り、ケルビムの上に座しておられる主の名をもって呼ばれている神の箱をそこからかき上ろうと、 13:6 David went up, and all Israel, to Baalah, that is, to Kiriath Jearim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up from there the ark of God Yahweh that sits above the cherubim, that is called by the Name.
13:7神の箱を新しい車にのせて、アビナダブの家からひきだし、ウザとアヒヨがその車を御した。 13:7 They carried the ark of God on a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab: and Uzza and Ahio drove the cart.
13:8ダビデおよびすべてのイスラエルは歌と琴と立琴と、手鼓と、シンバルと、ラッパをもって、力をきわめて神の前に踊った。 13:8 David and all Israel played before God with all their might, even with songs, and with harps, and with stringed instruments, and with tambourines, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.
13:9彼らがキドンの打ち場に来た時、ウザは手を伸べて箱を押えた。牛がつまずいたからである。 13:9 When they came to the threshing floor of Chidon, Uzza put forth his hand to hold the ark; for the oxen stumbled.
13:10ウザが手を箱につけたことによって、主は彼に向かって怒りを発し、彼を撃たれたので、彼はその所で神の前に死んだ。 13:10 The anger of Yahweh was kindled against Uzza, and he struck him, because he put forth his hand to the ark; and there he died before God.
13:11主がウザを撃たれたので、ダビデは怒った。その所は今日までペレヅ・ウザと呼ばれている。 13:11 David was displeased, because Yahweh had broken forth on Uzza; and he called that place Perez Uzza, to this day.
13:12その日ダビデは神を恐れて言った、「どうして神の箱を、わたしの所へかいて行けようか」。 13:12 David was afraid of God that day, saying, "How shall I bring the ark of God home to me?"
13:13それでダビデはその箱を自分の所ダビデの町へは移さず、これを転じてガテびとオベデ・エドムの家に運ばせた。 13:13 So David didn't move the ark to him into the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obed-Edom the Gittite.
13:14神の箱は三か月の間、オベデ・エドムの家に、その家族とともにとどまった。主はオベデ・エドムの家族とそのすべての持ち物を祝福された。 13:14 The ark of God remained with the family of Obed-Edom in his house three months: and Yahweh blessed the house of Obed-Edom, and all that he had.
14:1ツロの王ヒラムはダビデに使者をつかわし、彼のために家を建てさせようと香柏および石工と木工を送った。 14:1 Hiram king of Tyre sent messengers to David, and cedar trees, and masons, and carpenters, to build him a house.
14:2ダビデは主が自分を堅く立ててイスラエルの王とされたことと、その民イスラエルのために彼の国を大いに興されたことを悟った。 14:2 David perceived that Yahweh had established him king over Israel; for his kingdom was exalted on high, for his people Israel's sake.
14:3ダビデはエルサレムでまた妻たちをめとった。そしてダビデにまたむすこ、娘が生れた。 14:3 David took more wives at Jerusalem; and David became the father of more sons and daughters.
14:4彼がエルサレムで得た子たちの名は次のとおりである。すなわちシャンマ、ショバブ、、ナタン、ソロモン、 14:4 These are the names of the children whom he had in Jerusalem: Shammua, and Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon,

14:6ノガ、ネペグ、ヤピア、 14:6 and Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
14:7エリシャマ、ベエリアダ、エリペレテである。 14:7 and Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphelet.
14:8さてペリシテびとはダビデが油を注がれて全イスラエルの王になったことを聞いたので、ペリシテびとはみな上ってきてダビデを捜した。ダビデはこれを聞いてこれに当ろうと出ていったが、 14:8 When the Philistines heard that David was anointed king over all Israel, all the Philistines went up to seek David: and David heard of it, and went out against them.
14:9ペリシテびとはすでに来て、レパイムの谷を侵した。 14:9 Now the Philistines had come and made a raid in the valley of Rephaim.
14:10ダビデは神に問うて言った、「ペリシテびとに向かって上るべきでしょうか。あなたは彼らをわたしの手にわたされるでしょうか」。主はダビデに言われた、「上りなさい。わたしは彼らをあなたの手にわたそう」。 14:10 David inquired of God, saying, "Shall I go up against the Philistines? Will you deliver them into my hand?" Yahweh said to him, "Go up; for I will deliver them into your hand."
14:11そこで彼はバアル・ペラジムへ上っていった。その所でダビデは彼らを打ち敗り、そして言った、「神は破り出る水のように、わたしの手で敵を破られた」。それゆえ、その所の名はバアル・ペラジムと呼ばれている。 14:11 So they came up to Baal Perazim, and David struck them there; and David said, God has broken my enemies by my hand, like the breach of waters. Therefore they called the name of that place Baal Perazim.
14:12彼らが自分たちの神をそこに残して退いたので、ダビデは命じてこれを火で焼かせた。 14:12 They left their gods there; and David gave commandment, and they were burned with fire.
14:13ペリシテびとは再び谷を侵した。 14:13 The Philistines yet again made a raid in the valley.

14:15バルサムの木の上に行進の音が聞えたならば、あなたは行って戦いなさい。神があなたの前に出てペリシテびとの軍勢を撃たれるからです」。 14:15 It shall be, when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, that then you shall go out to battle; for God has gone out before you to strike the army of the Philistines."
14:16ダビデは神が命じられたようにして、ペリシテびとの軍勢を撃ち破り、ギベオンからゲゼルに及んだ。 14:16 David did as God commanded him: and they struck the army of the Philistines from Gibeon even to Gezer.
14:17そこでダビデの名はすべての国々に聞えわたり、主はすべての国びとに彼を恐れさせられた。 14:17 The fame of David went out into all lands; and Yahweh brought the fear of him on all nations.
15:1ダビデはダビデの町のうちに自分のために家を建て、また神の箱のために所を備え、これがために幕屋を張った。 15:1 David made him houses in the city of David; and he prepared a place for the ark of God, and pitched for it a tent.
15:2ダビデは言った、「神の箱をかくべき者はただレビびとのみである。主が主の箱をかかせ、また主に長く仕えさせるために彼らを選ばれたからである」。 15:2 Then David said, "No one ought to carry the ark of God but the Levites. For Yahweh has chosen them to carry the ark of God, and to minister to him forever."
15:3ダビデは主の箱をこれがために備えた所にかき上るため、イスラエルをことごとくエルサレムに集めた。 15:3 David assembled all Israel at Jerusalem, to bring up the ark of Yahweh to its place, which he had prepared for it.
15:4ダビデはまたアロンの子孫とレビびとを集めた。 15:4 David gathered together the sons of Aaron, and the Levites:
15:5すなわち、コハテの子孫のうちからはウリエルを長としてその兄弟百二十人、 15:5 of the sons of Kohath, Uriel the chief, and his brothers one hundred twenty;
15:6メラリの子孫のうちからはアサヤを長としてその兄弟二百二十人、 15:6 of the sons of Merari, Asaiah the chief, and his brothers two hundred twenty;
15:7ゲルショムの子孫のうちからはヨエルを長としてその兄弟百三十人、 15:7 of the sons of Gershom, Joel the chief, and his brothers one hundred thirty;
15:8エリザパンの子孫のうちからはシマヤを長としてその兄弟二百人、 15:8 of the sons of Elizaphan, Shemaiah the chief, and his brothers two hundred;
15:9ヘブロンの子孫のうちからはエリエルを長としてその兄弟八十人、 15:9 of the sons of Hebron, Eliel the chief, and his brothers eighty;

16:11主とそのみ力とを求めよ。つねにそのみ顔をたずねよ。 16:11 Seek Yahweh and his strength. Seek his face forever more.
16:12 16:12 Remember his marvelous works that he has done, his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth,

16:25主は大いなるかたにいまして、いとほめたたうべき者、もろもろの神にまさって、恐るべき者だからである。 16:25 For great is Yahweh, and greatly to be praised. He also is to be feared above all gods.
16:26もろもろの民のすべての神はむなしい。しかし主は天を造られた。 16:26 For all the gods of the peoples are idols, but Yahweh made the heavens.
16:27誉と威厳とはそのみ前にあり、力と喜びとはその聖所にある。 16:27 Honor and majesty are before him. Strength and gladness are in his place.
16:28もろもろの民のやからよ、主に帰せよ、栄光と力とを主に帰せよ。 16:28 Ascribe to Yahweh, you relatives of the peoples, ascribe to Yahweh glory and strength!
16:29そのみ名にふさわしい栄光を主に帰せよ。供え物を携えて主のみ前にきたれ。聖なる装いをして主を拝め。 16:29 Ascribe to Yahweh the glory due to his name. Bring an offering, and come before him. Worship Yahweh in holy array.
16:30全地よ、そのみ前におののけ。世界は堅く立って、動かされることはない。 16:30 Tremble before him, all the earth. The world also is established that it can't be moved.
16:31天は喜び、地はたのしみ、もろもろの国民の中に言え、「主は王であられる」と。 16:31 Let the heavens be glad, and let the earth rejoice! Let them say among the nations, "Yahweh reigns!"
16:32海とその中に満つるものとは鳴りどよめき、田畑とその中のすべての物は喜べ。 16:32 Let the sea roar, and its fullness! Let the field exult, and all that is therein!

17:12彼はわたしのために家を建てるであろう。わたしは長く彼の位を堅くする。 17:12 He shall build me a house, and I will establish his throne forever.

18:8またハダデゼルの町テブハテとクンからダビデは非常に多くの青銅を取った。ソロモンはそれを用いて青銅の海、柱および青銅の器を造った。 18:8 From Tibhath and from Cun, cities of Hadadezer, David took very much brass, with which Solomon made the bronze sea, and the pillars, and the vessels of brass.
18:9時にハマテの王トイはダビデがゾバの王ハダデゼルのすべての軍勢を撃ち破ったことを聞き、 18:9 When Tou king of Hamath heard that David had struck all the army of Hadadezer king of Zobah,

18:12ゼルヤの子アビシャイは塩の谷で、エドムびと一万八千を撃ち殺した。 18:12 Moreover Abishai the son of Zeruiah struck of the Edomites in the Valley of Salt eighteen thousand.
18:13ダビデはエドムに守備隊を置き、エドムびとは皆ダビデのしもべとなった。主はダビデにすべてその行く所で勝利を与えられた。 18:13 He put garrisons in Edom; and all the Edomites became servants to David. Yahweh gave victory to David wherever he went.
18:14こうしてダビデはイスラエルの全地を治め、そのすべての民に公道と正義を行った。 18:14 David reigned over all Israel; and he executed justice and righteousness to all his people.
18:15ゼルヤの子ヨアブは軍の長、アヒルデの子ヨシャパテは史官、 18:15 Joab the son of Zeruiah was over the army; and Jehoshaphat the son of Ahilud was recorder;
18:16アヒトブの子ザドクとアビヤタルの子アビメレクは祭司、シャウシャは書記官、 18:16 and Zadok the son of Ahitub, and Abimelech the son of Abiathar, were priests; and Shavsha was scribe;
18:17エホヤダの子ベナヤはケレテびととペレテびとの長、ダビデの子たちは王のかたわらにはべる大臣であった。 18:17 and Benaiah the son of Jehoiada was over the Cherethites and the Pelethites; and the sons of David were chief about the king.
19:1この後アンモンの人々の王ナハシが死んで、その子がこれに代って王となった。 19:1 It happened after this, that Nahash the king of the children of Ammon died, and his son reigned in his place.
19:2そのときダビデは言った、「わたしはナハシの子ハヌンに、彼の父がわたしに恵みを施したように、恵みを施そう」。そしてダビデは彼をその父のゆえに慰めようとして使者をつかわした。ダビデのしもべたちはハヌンを慰めるためアンモンの人々の地に来たが、 19:2 David said, "I will show kindness to Hanun the son of Nahash, because his father showed kindness to me." So David sent messengers to comfort him concerning his father. David's servants came into the land of the children of Ammon to Hanun, to comfort him.
19:3アンモンの人々のつかさたちはハヌンに言った、「ダビデが慰める者をあなたのもとにつかわしたことによって、あなたは彼があなたの父を尊ぶのだと思われますか。彼のしもべたちが来たのは、この国をうかがい、探って滅ぼすためではありませんか」。 19:3 But the princes of the children of Ammon said to Hanun, "Do you think that David honors your father, in that he has sent comforters to you? Haven't his servants come to you to search, to overthrow, and to spy out the land?"
19:4そこでハヌンはダビデのしもべたちを捕えて、そのひげをそり落し、その着物を中ほどから断ち切って腰の所までにして彼らを帰してやった。 19:4 So Hanun took David's servants, and shaved them, and cut off their garments in the middle, even to their buttocks, and sent them away.

He sent to meet them; for the men were greatly ashamed. The king said, "Stay at Jericho until your beards have grown, and then return."

19:7すなわち戦車三万二千およびマアカの王とその軍隊を雇い入れたので、彼らは来てメデバの前に陣を張った。そこでアンモンの人々は町々から寄り集まって、戦いに出動した。 19:7 So they hired for themselves thirty-two thousand chariots, and the king of Maacah and his people, who came and encamped before Medeba. The children of Ammon gathered themselves together from their cities, and came to battle.
19:8ダビデはこれを聞いてヨアブと勇士の全軍をつかわしたので、 19:8 When David heard of it, he sent Joab, and all the army of the mighty men.
19:9アンモンの人々は出て来て町の入口に戦いの備えをした。また助けに来た王たちは別に野にいた。 19:9 The children of Ammon came out, and put the battle in array at the gate of the city: and the kings who had come were by themselves in the field.
19:10時にヨアブは戦いが前後から自分に向かっているのを見て、イスラエルのえり抜きの兵士のうちから選んで、これをスリヤびとに対して備え、 19:10 Now when Joab saw that the battle was set against him before and behind, he chose of all the choice men of Israel, and put them in array against the Syrians.
19:11そのほかの民を自分の兄弟アビシャイの手にわたして、アンモンの人々に対して備えさせ、 19:11 The rest of the people he committed into the hand of Abishai his brother; and they put themselves in array against the children of Ammon.
19:12そして言った、「もしスリヤびとがわたしに手ごわいときは、わたしを助けてください。もしアンモンの人々があなたに手ごわいときは、あなたを助けましょう。 19:12 He said, "If the Syrians are too strong for me, then you are to help me; but if the children of Ammon are too strong for you, then I will help you.
19:13勇ましくしてください。われわれの民のためと、われわれの神の町々のために、勇ましくしましょう。どうか、主が良いと思われることをされるように」。 19:13 Be courageous, and let us be strong for our people, and for the cities of our God. May Yahweh do that which seems good to him."
19:14こうしてヨアブが自分と一緒にいる民と共にスリヤびとに向かって戦おうとして近づいたとき、スリヤびとは彼の前から逃げた。 19:14 So Joab and the people who were with him drew near before the Syrians to the battle; and they fled before him.
19:15アンモンの人々はスリヤびとの逃げるのを見て、彼らもまたヨアブの兄弟アビシャイの前から逃げて町にはいった。そこでヨアブはエルサレムに帰った。 19:15 When the children of Ammon saw that the Syrians had fled, they likewise fled before Abishai his brother, and entered into the city. Then Joab came to Jerusalem.
19:16しかしスリヤびとは自分たちがイスラエルの前に打ち敗られたのを見て、使者をつかわし、ハダデゼルの軍の長ショパクの率いるユフラテ川の向こう側にいるスリヤびとを引き出した。 19:16 When the Syrians saw that they were defeated by Israel, they sent messengers, and drew forth the Syrians who were beyond the River, with Shophach the captain of the army of Hadadezer at their head.
19:17この事がダビデに聞えたので、彼はイスラエルをことごとく集め、ヨルダンを渡り、彼らの所に来て、これに向かって戦いの備えをした。ダビデがこのようにスリヤびとに対して戦いの備えをしたとき、彼はダビデと戦った。 19:17 It was told David; and he gathered all Israel together, and passed over the Jordan, and came on them, and set the battle in array against them. So when David had put the battle in array against the Syrians, they fought with him.
19:18しかしスリヤびとがイスラエルの前から逃げたので、ダビデはスリヤびとの戦車の兵七千、歩兵四万を殺し、また軍の長ショパクをも殺した。 19:18 The Syrians fled before Israel; and David killed of the Syrians the men of seven thousand chariots, and forty thousand footmen, and killed Shophach the captain of the army.
19:19ハダデゼルのしもべたちは味方の者がイスラエルに打ち敗られたのを見て、ダビデと和を講じ、彼に仕えた。スリヤびとは再びアンモンびとを助けることをしなかった。 19:19 When the servants of Hadadezer saw that they were defeated by Israel, they made peace with David, and served him: neither would the Syrians help the children of Ammon any more.
20:1春になって、王たちが戦いに出るに及んで、ヨアブは軍勢を率いてアンモンびとの地を荒し、行ってラバを包囲した。しかしダビデはエルサレムにとどまった。ヨアブはラバを撃って、これを滅ぼした。 20:1 It happened, at the time of the return of the year, at the time when kings go out, that Joab led forth the army, and wasted the country of the children of Ammon, and came and besieged Rabbah. But David stayed at Jerusalem. Joab struck Rabbah, and overthrew it.
20:2そしてダビデは彼らの王の冠をその頭から取りはなした。その金の重さを量ってみると一タラント、またその中に宝石があった。これをダビデの頭に置いた。ダビデはまたその町のぶんどり物を非常に多く持ち出した。 20:2 David took the crown of their king from off his head, and found it to weigh a talent of gold, and there were precious stones in it; and it was set on David's head: and he brought forth the spoil of the city, exceeding much.
20:3また彼はそのうちの民を引き出して、これをのこぎりと、鉄のつるはしと、おのを使う仕事につかせた。ダビデはアンモンびとのすべての町々にこのように行った。そしてダビデと民とは皆エルサレムに帰った。 20:3 He brought forth the people who were therein, and cut them with saws, and with iron picks, and with axes. David did so to all the cities of the children of Ammon. David and all the people returned to Jerusalem.
20:4この後ゲゼルでペリシテびとと戦いが起った。その時ホシャびとシベカイが巨人の子孫のひとりシパイを殺した。かれらはついに征服された。 20:4 It happened after this, that there arose war at Gezer with the Philistines: then Sibbecai the Hushathite killed Sippai, of the sons of the giant; and they were subdued.
20:5ここにまたペリシテびとと戦いがあったが、ヤイルの子エルハナンはガテびとゴリアテの兄弟ラミを殺した。そのやりの柄は機の巻棒のようであった。 20:5 There was again war with the Philistines; and Elhanan the son of Jair killed Lahmi the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.
20:6またガテに戦いがあったが、そこにひとりの背の高い人がいた。その手の指と足の指は六本ずつで、合わせて二十四本あった。彼もまた巨人から生れた者であった。 20:6 There was again war at Gath, where there was a man of great stature, whose fingers and toes were twenty-four, six on each hand, and six on each foot; and he also was born to the giant.
20:7彼はイスラエルをののしったので、ダビデの兄弟シメアの子ヨナタンがこれを殺した。 20:7 When he defied Israel, Jonathan the son of Shimea David's brother killed him.
20:8これらはガテで巨人から生れた者であったが、ダビデの手とその家来たちの手に倒れた。 20:8 These were born to the giant in Gath; and they fell by the hand of David, and by the hand of his servants.
21:1時にサタンが起ってイスラエルに敵し、ダビデを動かしてイスラエルを数えさせようとした。 21:1 Satan stood up against Israel, and moved David to number Israel.
21:2ダビデはヨアブと軍の将校たちに言った、「あなたがたは行って、ベエルシバからダンまでのイスラエルを数え、その数を調べてわたしに知らせなさい」。 21:2 David said to Joab and to the princes of the people, "Go, number Israel from Beersheba even to Dan; and bring me word, that I may know the sum of them."
21:3ヨアブは言った、「それがどのくらいあっても、どうか主がその民を百倍に増されるように。しかし王わが主よ、彼らは皆あなたのしもべではありませんか。どうしてわが主はこの事を求められるのですか。どうしてイスラエルに罪を得させられるのですか」。 21:3 Joab said, "May Yahweh make his people a hundred times as many as they are. But, my lord the king, aren't they all my lord's servants? Why does my lord require this thing? Why will he be a cause of guilt to Israel?"
21:4しかし王の言葉がヨアブに勝ったので、ヨアブは出て行って、イスラエルをあまねく行き巡り、エルサレムに帰って来た。 21:4 Nevertheless the king's word prevailed against Joab. Therefore Joab departed, and went throughout all Israel, and came to Jerusalem.
21:5そしてヨアブは民の総数をダビデに告げた。すなわちイスラエルにはつるぎを抜く者が百十万人、ユダにはつるぎを抜く者が四十七万人あった。 21:5 Joab gave up the sum of the numbering of the people to David. All those of Israel were one million one hundred thousand men who drew sword: and in Judah were four hundred seventy thousand men who drew sword.
21:6しかしヨアブは王の命令を快しとしなかったので、レビとベニヤミンとはその中に数えなかった。 21:6 But he didn't count Levi and Benjamin among them; for the king's word was abominable to Joab.
21:7この事が神の目に悪かったので、神はイスラエルを撃たれた。 21:7 God was displeased with this thing; therefore he struck Israel.
21:8そこでダビデは神に言った、「わたしはこの事を行って大いに罪を犯しました。しかし今どうか、しもべの罪を除いてください。わたしは非常に愚かなことをいたしました」。 21:8 David said to God, "I have sinned greatly, in that I have done this thing. But now, put away, I beg you, the iniquity of your servant; for I have done very foolishly."
21:9主はダビデの先見者ガデに告げて言われた、 21:9 Yahweh spoke to Gad, David's seer, saying,
21:10「行ってダビデに言いなさい、『主はこう仰せられる、わたしは三つの事を示す。あなたはその一つを選びなさい。わたしはそれをあなたに行おう』と」。 21:10 "Go and speak to David, saying, 'Thus says Yahweh, "I offer you three things. Choose one of them, that I may do it to you."'"
21:11ガデはダビデのもとに来て言った、「主はこう仰せられます、『あなたは選びなさい。 21:11 So Gad came to David, and said to him, "Thus says Yahweh, 'Take your choice:
21:12すなわち三年のききんか、あるいは三月の間、あなたのあだの前に敗れて、敵のつるぎに追いつかれるか、あるいは三日の間、主のつるぎすなわち疫病がこの国にあって、主の使がイスラエルの全領域にわたって滅ぼすことをするか』。いま、わたしがどういう答をわたしをつかわしたものになすべきか決めなさい」。 21:12 either three years of famine; or three months to be consumed before your foes, while the sword of your enemies overtakes you; or else three days the sword of Yahweh, even pestilence in the land, and the angel of Yahweh destroying throughout all the borders of Israel. Now therefore consider what answer I shall return to him who sent me.'"
21:13ダビデはガデに言った、「わたしは非常に悩んでいるが、主のあわれみは大きいゆえ、わたしを主の手に陥らせてください。しかしわたしを人の手に陥らせないでください」。 21:13 David said to Gad, "I am in distress. Let me fall, I pray, into the hand of Yahweh; for his mercies are very great. Let me not fall into the hand of man."
21:14そこで主はイスラエルに疫病を下されたので、イスラエルびとのうち七万人が倒れた。 21:14 So Yahweh sent a pestilence on Israel; and seventy thousand men of Israel fell.
21:15神はまたみ使をエルサレムにつかわして、これを滅ぼそうとされたが、み使がまさに滅ぼそうとしたとき、主は見られて、この災を悔い、その滅ぼすみ使に言われた、「もうじゅうぶんだ。今あなたの手をとどめよ」。そのとき主の使はエブスびとオルナンの打ち場のかたわらに立っていた。 21:15 God sent an angel to Jerusalem to destroy it. As he was about to destroy, Yahweh saw, and he relented of the disaster, and said to the destroying angel, "It is enough; now stay your hand." The angel of Yahweh was standing by the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
21:16ダビデが目をあげて見ると、主の使が地と天の間に立って、手に抜いたつるぎをもち、エルサレムの上にさし伸べていたので、ダビデと長老たちは荒布を着て、ひれ伏した。 21:16 David lifted up his eyes, and saw the angel of Yahweh standing between earth and the sky, having a drawn sword in his hand stretched out over Jerusalem. Then David and the elders, clothed in sackcloth, fell on their faces.
21:17そしてダビデは神に言った、「民を数えよと命じたのはわたしではありませんか。罪を犯し、悪い事をしたのはわたしです。しかしこれらの羊は何をしましたか。わが神、主よ、どうぞあなたの手をわたしと、わたしの父の家にむけてください。しかし災をあなたの民に下さないでください」。 21:17 David said to God, "Isn't it I who commanded the people to be numbered? It is even I who have sinned and done very wickedly; but these sheep, what have they done? Please let your hand, O Yahweh my God, be against me, and against my father's house; but not against your people, that they should be plagued."
21:18時に主の使はガデに命じ、ダビデが上って行って、エブスびとオルナンの打ち場で主のために一つの祭壇を築くように告げさせた。 21:18 Then the angel of Yahweh commanded Gad to tell David that David should go up, and raise an altar to Yahweh in the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite.
21:19そこでダビデはガデが主の名をもって告げた言葉に従って上って行った。 21:19 David went up at the saying of Gad, which he spoke in the name of Yahweh.
21:20そのときオルナンは麦を打っていたが、ふりかえってみ使を見たので、ともにいた彼の四人の子は身をかくした。 21:20 Ornan turned back, and saw the angel; and his four sons who were with him hid themselves. Now Ornan was threshing wheat.
21:21ダビデがオルナンに近づくと、オルナンは目を上げてダビデを見、打ち場から出て来て地にひれ伏してダビデを拝した。 21:21 As David came to Ornan, Ornan looked and saw David, and went out of the threshing floor, and bowed himself to David with his face to the ground.
21:22ダビデはオルナンに言った、「この打ち場の所をわたしに与えなさい。わたしは災が民に下るのをとどめるため、そこに主のために一つの祭壇を築きます。あなたは、そのじゅうぶんな価をとってこれをわたしに与えなさい」。 21:22 Then David said to Ornan, "Give me the place of this threshing floor, that I may build thereon an altar to Yahweh. You shall sell it to me for the full price, that the plague may be stopped from afflicting the people."
21:23オルナンはダビデに言った、「どうぞこれをお取りなさい。そして王わが主の良しと見られるところを行いなさい。わたしは牛を燔祭のために、打穀機をたきぎのために、麦を素祭のためにささげます。わたしは皆これをささげます」。 21:23 Ornan said to David, "Take it for yourself, and let my lord the king do that which is good in his eyes. Behold, I give the oxen for burnt offerings, and the threshing instruments for wood, and the wheat for the meal offering. I give it all."
21:24ダビデ王はオルナンに言った、「いいえ、わたしはじゅうぶんな代価を払ってこれを買います。わたしは主のためにあなたのものを取ることをしません。また、費えなしに燔祭をささげることをいたしません」。 21:24 King David said to Ornan, "No; but I will most certainly buy it for the full price. For I will not take that which is yours for Yahweh, nor offer a burnt offering without cost."
21:25それでダビデはその所のために金六百シケルをはかって、オルナンに払った。 21:25 So David gave to Ornan six hundred shekels of gold by weight for the place.
21:26こうしてダビデは主のために、その所に一つの祭壇を築き、燔祭と酬恩祭をささげて、主を呼んだ。主は燔祭の祭壇の上に天から火を下して答えられた。 21:26 David built an altar to Yahweh there, and offered burnt offerings and peace offerings, and called on Yahweh; and he answered him from the sky by fire on the altar of burnt offering.
21:27また主がみ使に命じられたので、彼はつるぎをさやにおさめた。 21:27 Yahweh commanded the angel; and he put up his sword again into its sheath.
21:28その時ダビデは主がエブスびとオルナンの打ち場で自分に答えられたのを見たので、その所で犠牲をささげた。 21:28 At that time, when David saw that Yahweh had answered him in the threshing floor of Ornan the Jebusite, then he sacrificed there.
21:29モーセが荒野で造った主の幕屋と燔祭の祭壇とは、その時ギベオンの高き所にあったからである。 21:29 For the tabernacle of Yahweh, which Moses made in the wilderness, and the altar of burnt offering, were at that time in the high place at Gibeon.
21:30しかしダビデはその前へ行って神に求めることができなかった。彼が主の使のつるぎを恐れたからである。 21:30 But David couldn't go before it to inquire of God; for he was afraid because of the sword of the angel of Yahweh.
22:1それでダビデは言った、「主なる神の家はこれである、イスラエルのための燔祭の祭壇はこれである」と。 22:1 Then David said, "This is the house of Yahweh God, and this is the altar of burnt offering for Israel."
22:2ダビデは命じてイスラエルの地にいる他国人を集めさせ、また神の家を建てるのに用いる石を切るために石工を定めた。 22:2 David gave orders to gather together the foreigners who were in the land of Israel; and he set masons to cut worked stones to build God's house.
22:3ダビデはまた門のとびらのくぎ、およびかすがいに用いる鉄をおびただしく備えた。また青銅を量ることもできないほどおびただしく備えた。 22:3 David prepared iron in abundance for the nails for the doors of the gates, and for the couplings; and brass in abundance without weight;
22:4また香柏を数えきれぬほど備えた。これはシドンびととツロの人々がおびただしく香柏をダビデの所に持って来たからである。 22:4 and cedar trees without number: for the Sidonians and they of Tyre brought cedar trees in abundance to David.
22:5ダビデは言った、「わが子ソロモンは若く、かつ経験がない。また主のために建てる家はきわめて壮大で、万国に名を得、栄えを得るものでなければならない。それゆえ、わたしはその準備をしておこう」と。こうしてダビデは死ぬ前に多くの物資を準備した。 22:5 David said, "Solomon my son is young and tender, and the house that is to be built for Yahweh must be exceedingly magnificent, of fame and of glory throughout all countries. I will therefore make preparation for it." So David prepared abundantly before his death.
22:6そして彼はその子ソロモンを召して、イスラエルの神、主のために家を建てることを命じた。 22:6 Then he called for Solomon his son, and commanded him to build a house for Yahweh, the God of Israel.
22:7すなわちダビデはソロモンに言った、「わが子よ、わたしはわが神、主の名のために家を建てようと志していた。 22:7 David said to Solomon his son, "As for me, it was in my heart to build a house to the name of Yahweh my God.
22:8ところが主の言葉がわたしに臨んで言われた、『おまえは多くの血を流し、大いなる戦争をした。おまえはわたしの前で多くの血を地に流したから、わが名のために家を建ててはならない。 22:8 But the word of Yahweh came to me, saying, 'You have shed blood abundantly, and have made great wars. You shall not build a house to my name, because you have shed much blood on the earth in my sight.
22:9見よ、男の子がおまえに生れる。彼は平和の人である。わたしは彼に平安を与えて、周囲のもろもろの敵に煩わされないようにしよう。彼の名はソロモンと呼ばれ、彼の世にわたしはイスラエルに平安と静穏とを与える。 22:9 Behold, a son shall be born to you, who shall be a man of rest. I will give him rest from all his enemies all around; for his name shall be Solomon, and I will give peace and quietness to Israel in his days.
22:10彼はわが名のために家を建てるであろう。彼はわが子となり、わたしは彼の父となる。わたしは彼の王位をながくイスラエルの上に堅くするであろう』。 22:10 He shall build a house for my name; and he shall be my son, and I will be his father; and I will establish the throne of his kingdom over Israel for ever.'
22:11それでわが子よ、どうか主があなたと共にいまし、あなたを栄えさせて、主があなたについて言われたように、あなたの神、主の家を建てさせてくださるように。 22:11 Now, my son, may Yahweh be with you and prosper you, and build the house of Yahweh your God, as he has spoken concerning you.
22:12ただ、どうか主があなたに分別と知恵を賜い、あなたをイスラエルの上に立たせられるとき、あなたの神、主の律法を、あなたに守らせてくださるように。 22:12 May Yahweh give you discretion and understanding, and put you in charge of Israel; that so you may keep the law of Yahweh your God.
22:13あなたがもし、主がイスラエルについてモーセに命じられた定めとおきてとを慎んで守るならば、あなたは栄えるであろう。心を強くし、勇め。恐れてはならない、おののいてはならない。 22:13 Then you will prosper, if you observe to do the statutes and the ordinances which Yahweh gave Moses concerning Israel. Be strong, and courageous. Don't be afraid, neither be dismayed.
22:14見よ、わたしは苦難のうちにあって主の家のために金十万タラント、銀百万タラントを備え、また青銅と鉄を量ることもできないほどおびただしく備えた。また材木と石をも備えた。あなたはまたこれに加えなければならない。 22:14 Now, behold, in my affliction I have prepared for the house of Yahweh one hundred thousand talents of gold, one million talents of silver, and brass and iron without weight; for it is in abundance. I have also prepared timber and stone; and you may add to them.
22:15あなたにはまた多数の職人、すなわち石や木を切り刻む者、工作に巧みな各種の者がある。 22:15 There are also workmen with you in abundance, cutters and workers of stone and timber, and all kinds of men who are skillful in every kind of work:
22:16金、銀、青銅、鉄もおびただしくある。たって行いなさい。どうか主があなたと共におられるように」。 22:16 of the gold, the silver, and the brass, and the iron, there is no number. Arise and be doing, and may Yahweh be with you."
22:17ダビデはまたイスラエルのすべてのつかさたちにその子ソロモンを助けるように命じて言った、 22:17 David also commanded all the princes of Israel to help Solomon his son, saying,
22:18「あなたがたの神、主はあなたがたとともにおられるではないか。四方に泰平を賜わったではないか。主はこの地の民をわたしの手にわたされたので、この地は主の前とその民の前に服している。 22:18 "Isn't Yahweh your God with you? Hasn't he given you rest on every side? For he has delivered the inhabitants of the land into my hand; and the land is subdued before Yahweh, and before his people.
22:19それであなたがたは心をつくし、精神をつくしてあなたがたの神、主を求めなさい。たって主なる神の聖所を建て、主の名のために建てるその家に、主の契約の箱と神の聖なるもろもろの器を携え入れなさい」。 22:19 Now set your heart and your soul to seek after Yahweh your God. Arise therefore, and build the sanctuary of Yahweh God, to bring the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, and the holy vessels of God, into the house that is to be built to the name of Yahweh."
23:1ダビデは老い、その日が満ちたので、その子ソロモンをイスラエルの王とした。 23:1 Now David was old and full of days; and he made Solomon his son king over Israel.
23:2ダビデはイスラエルのすべてのつかさおよび祭司とレビびとを集めた。 23:2 He gathered together all the princes of Israel, with the priests and the Levites.
23:3レビびとの三十歳以上のものを数えると、その男の数が三万八千人あった。 23:3 The Levites were numbered from thirty years old and upward: and their number by their polls, man by man, was thirty-eight thousand.
23:4ダビデは言った、「そのうち二万四千人は主の家の仕事をつかさどり、六千人はつかさびと、およびさばきびととなり、 23:4 David said, "Of these, twenty-four thousand were to oversee the work of the house of Yahweh; six thousand were officers and judges;
23:5四千人は門を守る者となり、また四千人はさんびのためにわたしの造った楽器で主をたたえよ」。 23:5 four thousand were doorkeepers; and four thousand praised Yahweh with the instruments which I made, for giving praise."
23:6そしてダビデは彼らをレビの子らにしたがってゲルション、コハテ、メラリの組に分けた。 23:6 David divided them into divisions according to the sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
23:7ゲルションの子らはラダンとシメイ。 23:7 Of the Gershonites: Ladan and Shimei.
23:8ラダンの子らは、かしらのエヒエルとゼタムとヨエルの三人。 23:8 The sons of Ladan: Jehiel the chief, and Zetham, and Joel, three.
23:9シメイの子らはシロミテ、ハジエル、ハランの三人。これらはラダンの氏族の長であった。 23:9 The sons of Shimei: Shelomoth, and Haziel, and Haran, three. These were the heads of the fathers' households of Ladan.
23:10シメイの子らはヤハテ、ジナ、エウシ、ベリアの四人。皆シメイの子で、 23:10 The sons of Shimei: Jahath, Zina, and Jeush, and Beriah. These four were the sons of Shimei.
23:11ヤハテはかしら、ジザはその次、エウシとベリアは子が多くなかったので、ともに数えられて一つの氏族となった。 23:11 Jahath was the chief, and Zizah the second: but Jeush and Beriah didn't have many sons; therefore they became a fathers' house in one reckoning.
23:12コハテの子らはアムラム、イヅハル、ヘブロン、ウジエルの四人。 23:12 The sons of Kohath: Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.
23:13アムラムの子らはアロンとモーセである。アロンはその子らとともに、ながくいと聖なるものを聖別するために分かたれて、主の前に香をたき、主に仕え、常に主の名をもって祝福することをなした。 23:13 The sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses; and Aaron was separated, that he should sanctify the most holy things, he and his sons, forever, to burn incense before Yahweh, to minister to him, and to bless in his name, forever.
23:14神の人モーセの子らはレビの部族のうちに数えられた。 23:14 But as for Moses the man of God, his sons were named among the tribe of Levi.
23:15モーセの子らはゲルションとエリエゼル。 23:15 The sons of Moses: Gershom and Eliezer.
23:16ゲルションの子らは、かしらはシブエル。 23:16 The sons of Gershom: Shebuel the chief.
23:17エリエゼルの子らは、かしらはレハビヤ。エリエゼルにはこのほかに子がなかった。しかしレハビヤの子らは非常に多かった。 23:17 The sons of Eliezer were: Rehabiah the chief; and Eliezer had no other sons; but the sons of Rehabiah were very many.
23:18イヅハルの子らは、かしらはシロミテ。 23:18 The sons of Izhar: Shelomith the chief.
23:19ヘブロンの子らは長子はエリヤ、次はアマリヤ、第三はヤハジエル、第四はエカメアム。 23:19 The sons of Hebron: Jeriah the chief, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
23:20ウジエルの子らは、かしらはミカ、次はイシアである。 23:20 The sons of Uzziel: Micah the chief, and Isshiah the second.
23:21メラリの子らはマヘリとムシ。マヘリの子らはエレアザルとキシ。 23:21 The sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi. The sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish.
23:22エレアザルは男の子がなくて死に、ただ娘たちだけであったが、キシの子であるその身内の男たちが彼女たちをめとった。 23:22 Eleazar died, and had no sons, but daughters only: and their brothers the sons of Kish took them as wives.
23:23ムシの子らはマヘリ、エデル、エレモテの三人である。 23:23 The sons of Mushi: Mahli, and Eder, and Jeremoth, three.
23:24これらはその氏族によるレビの子孫であって、その人数が数えられ、その名がしるされて、主の家の務をなした二十歳以上の者で、氏族の長であった。 23:24 These were the sons of Levi after their fathers' houses, even the heads of the fathers' houses of those who were counted individually, in the number of names by their polls, who did the work for the service of the house of Yahweh, from twenty years old and upward.
23:25ダビデは言った、「イスラエルの神、主はその民に平安を与え、ながくエルサレムに住まわれる。 23:25 For David said, "Yahweh, the God of Israel, has given rest to his people; and he dwells in Jerusalem forever.
23:26レビびとは重ねて幕屋およびその勤めの器物をかつぐことはない。 23:26 Also the Levites will no longer need to carry the tabernacle and all its vessels for its service."
23:27 ダビデの最後の言葉によって、レビびとは二十歳以上の者が数えられた 23:27 For by the last words of David the sons of Levi were numbered, from twenty years old and upward.
23:28彼らの務はアロンの子孫を助けて主の家の働きをし、庭とへやの仕事およびすべての聖なるものを清めること、そのほか、すべて神の家の働きをすることである。 23:28 For their office was to wait on the sons of Aaron for the service of the house of Yahweh, in the courts, and in the rooms, and in the purifying of all holy things, even the work of the service of God's house;
23:29また供えのパン、素祭の麦粉、種入れぬ菓子、焼いた供え物、油をまぜた供え物をつかさどり、またすべて分量および大きさを量ることをつかさどり、 23:29 for the show bread also, and for the fine flour for a meal offering, whether of unleavened wafers, or of that which is baked in the pan, or of that which is soaked, and for all kinds of measure and size;
23:30また朝ごとに立って主に感謝し、さんびし、夕にもまたそのようにし、 23:30 and to stand every morning to thank and praise Yahweh, and likewise in the evening;
23:31また安息日と新月と祭日に、主にもろもろの燔祭をささげるときは、絶えず主の前にその命じられた数にしたがってささげなければならない。 23:31 and to offer all burnt offerings to Yahweh, on the Sabbaths, on the new moons, and on the set feasts, in number according to the ordinance concerning them, continually before Yahweh;
23:32このようにして彼らは会見の幕屋と聖所の務を守り、主の家の働きのためにその兄弟であるアロンの子らに仕えなければならない」。 23:32 and that they should keep the duty of the Tent of Meeting, and the duty of the holy place, and the duty of the sons of Aaron their brothers, for the service of the house of Yahweh.
24:1アロンの子孫の組は次のとおりである。すなわちアロンの子らはナダブ、アビウ、エレアザル、イタマル。 24:1 These were the divisions of the sons of Aaron. The sons of Aaron: Nadab and Abihu, Eleazar and Ithamar.
24:2ナダブとアビウはその父に先だって死に、子がなかったので、エレアザルとイタマルが祭司となった。 24:2 But Nadab and Abihu died before their father, and had no children: therefore Eleazar and Ithamar executed the priest's office.
24:3ダビデはエレアザルの子孫ザドクとイタマルの子孫アヒメレクの助けによって彼らを分けて、それぞれの勤めにつけた。 24:3 David with Zadok of the sons of Eleazar, and Ahimelech of the sons of Ithamar, divided them according to their ordering in their service.
24:4エレアザルの子孫のうちにはイタマルの子孫のうちよりも長たる人々が多かった。それでエレアザルの子孫で氏族の長である十六人と、イタマルの子孫で氏族の長である者八人にこれを分けた。 24:4 There were more chief men found of the sons of Eleazar than of the sons of Ithamar; and they were divided like this: of the sons of Eleazar there were sixteen, heads of fathers' houses; and of the sons of Ithamar, according to their fathers' houses, eight.
24:5このように彼らは皆ひとしく、くじによって分けられた。聖所のつかさ、および神のつかさは、ともにエレアザルの子孫とイタマルの子孫から出たからである。 24:5 Thus were they divided impartially by drawing lots; for there were princes of the sanctuary, and princes of God, both of the sons of Eleazar, and of the sons of Ithamar.
24:6レビびとネタネルの子である書記シマヤは、王とつかさたちと祭司ザドクとアビヤタルの子アヒメレクと祭司およびレビびとの氏族の長たちの前で、これを書きしるした。すなわちエレアザルのために氏族一つを取れば、イタマルのためにも一つを取った。 24:6 Shemaiah the son of Nethanel the scribe, who was of the Levites, wrote them in the presence of the king, and the princes, and Zadok the priest, and Ahimelech the son of Abiathar, and the heads of the fathers' households of the priests and of the Levites; one fathers' house being taken for Eleazar, and one taken for Ithamar.
24:7第一のくじはヨアリブに当り、第二はエダヤに当り、 24:7 Now the first lot came forth to Jehoiarib, the second to Jedaiah,
24:8第三はハリムに、第四はセオリムに、 24:8 the third to Harim, the fourth to Seorim,
24:9第五はマルキヤに、第六はミヤミンに、 24:9 the fifth to Malchijah, the sixth to Mijamin,
24:10第七はハッコヅに、第八はアビヤに、 24:10 the seventh to Hakkoz, the eighth to Abijah,
24:11第九はエシュアに、第十はシカニヤに、 24:11 the ninth to Jeshua, the tenth to Shecaniah,
24:12第十一はエリアシブに、第十二はヤキムに、 24:12 the eleventh to Eliashib, the twelfth to Jakim,
24:13第十三はホッパに、第十四はエシバブに、 24:13 the thirteenth to Huppah, the fourteenth to Jeshebeab,

24:18第二十三はデラヤに、第二十四はマアジヤに当った。 24:18 the twenty-third to Delaiah, the twenty-fourth to Maaziah.
24:19これは、彼らの先祖アロンによって設けられた定めにしたがい、主の家にはいって務をなす順序であって、イスラエルの神、主の彼に命じられたとおりである。 24:19 This was their ordering in their service, to come into the house of Yahweh according to the ordinance given to them by Aaron their father, as Yahweh, the God of Israel, had commanded him.
24:20このほかのレビの子孫は次のとおりである。すなわちアムラムの子らのうちではシュバエル。シュバエルの子らのうちではエデヤ。 24:20 Of the rest of the sons of Levi: of the sons of Amram, Shubael; of the sons of Shubael, Jehdeiah.
24:21レハビヤについては、レハビヤの子らのうちでは長子イシア。 24:21 Of Rehabiah: of the sons of Rehabiah, Isshiah the chief.
24:22イヅハリびとのうちではシロミテ。シロミテの子らのうちではヤハテ。 24:22 Of the Izharites, Shelomoth; of the sons of Shelomoth, Jahath.

25:2アサフの子たちはザックル、ヨセフ、ネタニヤ、アサレラであって、アサフの指揮のもとに王の命によって預言した者である。 25:2 of the sons of Asaph: Zaccur, and Joseph, and Nethaniah, and Asharelah, the sons of Asaph, under the hand of Asaph, who prophesied after the order of the king.
25:3エドトンについては、エドトンの子たちはゲダリヤ、ゼリ、エサヤ、ハシャビヤ、マッタテヤの六人で、琴をもって主に感謝し、かつほめたたえて預言したその父エドトンの指揮の下にあった。 25:3 Of Jeduthun; the sons of Jeduthun: Gedaliah, and Zeri, and Jeshaiah, Hashabiah, and Mattithiah, six, under the hands of their father Jeduthun with the harp, who prophesied in giving thanks and praising Yahweh.
25:4ヘマンについては、ヘマンの子たちはブッキヤ、マッタニヤ、ウジエル、シブエル、エレモテ、ハナニヤ、ハナニ、エリアタ、ギダルテ、ロマムテ・エゼル、ヨシベカシャ、マロテ、ホテル、マハジオテである。 25:4 Of Heman; the sons of Heman: Bukkiah, Mattaniah, Uzziel, Shebuel, and Jerimoth, Hananiah, Hanani, Eliathah, Giddalti, and Romamti-Ezer, Joshbekashah, Mallothi, Hothir, Mahazioth.
25:5これらは皆、神がご自身の約束にしたがって高くされた王の先見者ヘマンの子たちであった。神はヘマンに男の子十四人、女の子三人を与えられた。 25:5 All these were the sons of Heman the king's seer in the words of God, to lift up the horn. God gave to Heman fourteen sons and three daughters.
25:6これらの者は皆その父の指揮の下にあって、主の宮で歌をうたい、シンバルと立琴と琴をもって神の宮の務をした。アサフ、エドトンおよびヘマンは王の命の下にあった。 25:6 All these were under the hands of their father for song in the house of Yahweh, with cymbals, stringed instruments, and harps, for the service of God's house; Asaph, Jeduthun, and Heman being under the order of the king.
25:7彼らおよび主に歌をうたうことのために訓練され、すべて熟練した兄弟たちの数は二百八十八人であった。 25:7 The number of them, with their brothers who were instructed in singing to Yahweh, even all who were skillful, was two hundred eighty-eight.

25:10第三はザックルに当った。その子たちおよびその兄弟たち、合わせて十二人。 25:10 the third to Zaccur, his sons and his brothers, twelve:
25:11第四はイヅリに当った。その子たちおよびその兄弟たち、合わせて十二人。 25:11 the fourth to Izri, his sons and his brothers, twelve:

In the fortieth year of the reign of David they were sought for, and there were found among them mighty men of valor at Jazer of Gilead.

27:1イスラエルの子孫のうちで氏族の長、千人の長、百人の長、およびつかさたちは年のすべての月の間、月ごとに交替して組のすべての事をなして王に仕えたが、その数にしたがえば各組二万四千人あった。 27:1 Now the children of Israel after their number, the heads of fathers' households and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, and their officers who served the king, in any matter of the divisions which came in and went out month by month throughout all the months of the year--of every division were twenty-four thousand.
27:2まず第一の組すなわち正月の分はザブデエルの子ヤショベアムがこれを率いた。その組には二万四千人あった。 27:2 Over the first division for the first month was Jashobeam the son of Zabdiel: and in his division were twenty-four thousand.
27:3彼はペレヅの子孫で、正月の軍団のすべての将たちのかしらであった。 27:3 He was of the children of Perez, the chief of all the captains of the army for the first month.

28:1ダビデはイスラエルのすべての長官、すなわち部族の長、王に仕えた組の長、千人の長、百人の長、王とその子たちのすべての財産および家畜のつかさ、宦官、有力者、勇士などをことごとくエルサレムに召し集めた。 28:1 David assembled all the princes of Israel, the princes of the tribes, and the captains of the companies who served the king by division, and the captains of thousands, and the captains of hundreds, and the rulers over all the substance and possessions of the king and of his sons, with the officers, and the mighty men, even all the mighty men of valor, to Jerusalem.
28:2そしてダビデ王はその足で立ち上がって言った、「わが兄弟たち、わが民よ、わたしに聞きなさい。わたしは主の契約の箱のため、われわれの神の足台のために安住の家を建てようとの志をもち、すでにこれを建てる準備をした。 28:2 Then David the king stood up on his feet, and said, "Hear me, my brothers, and my people! As for me, it was in my heart to build a house of rest for the ark of the covenant of Yahweh, and for the footstool of our God; and I had prepared for the building.
28:3しかし神はわたしに言われた、『おまえはわが名のために家を建ててはならない。おまえは軍人であって、多くの血を流したからである』と。 28:3 But God said to me, 'You shall not build a house for my name, because you are a man of war, and have shed blood.'
28:4それにもかかわらず、イスラエルの神、主はわたしの父の全家のうちからわたしを選んで長くイスラエルの王とせられた。すなわちユダを選んでかしらとし、ユダの家のうちで、わたしの父の家を選び、わたしの父の子らのうちで、わたしを喜び、全イスラエルの王とせられた。 28:4 However Yahweh, the God of Israel, chose me out of all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever. For he has chosen Judah to be prince; and in the house of Judah, the house of my father; and among the sons of my father he took pleasure in me to make me king over all Israel.
28:5そして主はわたしに多くの子を賜わり、そのすべての子らのうちからわが子ソロモンを選び、これを主の国の位にすわらせて、イスラエルを治めさせようとせられた。 28:5 Of all my sons (for Yahweh has given me many sons), he has chosen Solomon my son to sit on the throne of Yahweh's kingdom over Israel.
28:6主はまたわたしに言われた、『おまえの子ソロモンがわが家およびわが庭を造るであろう。わたしは彼を選んでわが子となしたからである。わたしは彼の父となる。 28:6 He said to me, 'Solomon, your son, shall build my house and my courts; for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.
28:7彼がもし今日のように、わが戒めとわがおきてを固く守って行うならば、わたしはその国をいつまでも堅くするであろう』と。 28:7 I will establish his kingdom forever, if he continues to do my commandments and my ordinances, as at this day.'
28:8それゆえいま、主の会衆なる全イスラエルの目の前およびわれわれの神の聞かれる所であなたがたに勧める。あなたがたはその神、主のすべての戒めを守り、これを求めなさい。そうすればあなたがたはこの良き地を所有し、これをあなたがたの後の子孫に長く嗣業として伝えることができる。 28:8 Now therefore, in the sight of all Israel, the assembly of Yahweh, and in the audience of our God, observe and seek out all the commandments of Yahweh your God; that you may possess this good land, and leave it for an inheritance to your children after you forever.
28:9わが子ソロモンよ、あなたの父の神を知り、全き心をもって喜び勇んで彼に仕えなさい。主はすべての心を探り、すべての思いを悟られるからである。あなたがもし彼を求めるならば会うことができる。しかしあなたがもしかれを捨てるならば彼は長くあなたを捨てられるであろう。 28:9 You, Solomon my son, know the God of your father, and serve him with a perfect heart and with a willing mind; for Yahweh searches all hearts, and understands all the imaginations of the thoughts. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will cast you off forever.
28:10それであなたは慎みなさい。主はあなたを選んで聖所とすべき家を建てさせようとされるのだから心を強くしてこれを行いなさい」。 28:10 Take heed now; for Yahweh has chosen you to build a house for the sanctuary. Be strong, and do it."
28:11こうしてダビデは神殿の廊およびその家、その倉、その上の室、その内の室、贖罪所の室などの計画をその子ソロモンに授け、 28:11 Then David gave to Solomon his son the pattern of the porch of the temple, and of its houses, and of its treasuries, and of the upper rooms of it, and of the inner rooms of it, and of the place of the mercy seat;

28:13また祭司およびレビびとの組と、主の宮のもろもろの務の仕事と、主の宮のもろもろの勤めの器物について授け、 28:13 also for the divisions of the priests and the Levites, and for all the work of the service of the house of Yahweh, and for all the vessels of service in the house of Yahweh;
28:14またもろもろの勤めに用いるすべての金の器を造る金の目方、およびもろもろの勤めに用いる銀の器の目方を定めた。 28:14 of gold by weight for the gold, for all vessels of every kind of service; for all the vessels of silver by weight, for all vessels of every kind of service;
28:15すなわち金の燭台と、そのともしび皿の目方、おのおのの燭台と、そのともしび皿の金の目方を定め、また銀の燭台についてもおのおのの燭台の用法にしたがって燭台と、そのともしび皿の銀の目方を定めた。 28:15 by weight also for the lampstands of gold, and for its lamps, of gold, by weight for every lampstand and for its lamps; and for the lampstands of silver, by weight for every lampstand and for its lamps, according to the use of every lampstand;
28:16また供えのパンの机については、そのおのおのの机のために金の目方を定め、また銀の机のためにも銀を定め、 28:16 and the gold by weight for the tables of show bread, for every table; and silver for the tables of silver;
28:17また肉さし、鉢、かめに用いる純金の目方を定め、金の大杯についてもおのおのの目方を定め、銀の大杯についてもおのおのの目方を定め、 28:17 and the forks, and the basins, and the cups, of pure gold; and for the golden bowls by weight for every bowl; and for the silver bowls by weight for every bowl;
28:18また香の祭壇のために精金の目方を定め、また翼を伸べて主の契約の箱をおおっているケルビムの金の車のひな型の金を定めた。 28:18 and for the altar of incense refined gold by weight; and gold for the pattern of the chariot, the cherubim, that spread out, and covered the ark of the covenant of Yahweh.
28:19ダビデはすべての工作が計画にしたがってなされるため、これについて主の手によって書かれたものにより、これをことごとく明らかにした。 28:19 "All this," said David, "I have been made to understand in writing from the hand of Yahweh, even all the works of this pattern."

Don't be afraid, nor be dismayed; for Yahweh God, even my God, is with you. He will not fail you, nor forsake you, until all the work for the service of the house of Yahweh is finished.
28:21見よ、神の宮のすべての務のためには祭司とレビびとの組がある。またもろもろの勤めのためにすべての仕事を喜んでする巧みな者が皆あなたと共にある。またつかさたちおよびすべての民もあなたの命じるところをことごとく行うでしょう」。 28:21 Behold, there are the divisions of the priests and the Levites, for all the service of God's house. There shall be with you in all kinds of work every willing man who has skill, for any kind of service. Also the captains and all the people will be entirely at your command."
29:1ダビデ王はまた全会衆に言った、「わが子ソロモンは神がただひとりを選ばれた者であるが、まだ若くて経験がなく、この事業は大きい。この宮は人のためではなく、主なる神のためだからである。 29:1 David the king said to all the assembly, "Solomon my son, whom alone God has chosen, is yet young and tender, and the work is great; for the palace is not for man, but for Yahweh God.
29:2そこでわたしは力をつくして神の宮のために備えた。すなわち金の物を造るために金、銀の物のために銀、青銅の物のために青銅、鉄の物のために鉄、木の物のために木を備えた。その他縞めのう、はめ石、アンチモニイ、色のついた石、さまざまの宝石、大理石などおびただしい。 29:2 Now I have prepared with all my might for the house of my God the gold for the things of gold, and the silver for the things of silver, and the brass for the things of brass, the iron for the things of iron, and wood for the things of wood; onyx stones, and stones to be set, stones for inlaid work, and of various colors, and all kinds of precious stones, and marble stones in abundance.
29:3なおわたしはわが神の宮に熱心なるがゆえに、聖なる家のために備えたすべての物に加えて、わたしの持っている金銀の財宝をわが神の宮にささげる。 29:3 In addition, because I have set my affection on the house of my God, since I have a treasure of my own of gold and silver, I give it to the house of my God, over and above all that I have prepared for the holy house,
29:4すなわちオフルの金三千タラント、精銀七千タラントをそのもろもろの建物の壁をおおうためにささげる。 29:4 even three thousand talents of gold, of the gold of Ophir, and seven thousand talents of refined silver, with which to overlay the walls of the houses;
29:5金は金の物のために、銀は銀の物のために、すべて工人によって造られるもののために用いる。だれかきょう、主にその身をささげる者のように喜んでささげ物をするだろうか」。 29:5 of gold for the things of gold, and of silver for the things of silver, and for all kinds of work to be made by the hands of artisans. Who then offers willingly to consecrate himself this day to Yahweh?"
29:6そこで氏族の長たち、イスラエルの部族のつかさたち、千人の長、百人の長および王の工事をつかさどる者たちは喜んでささげ物をした。 29:6 Then the princes of the fathers' households, and the princes of the tribes of Israel, and the captains of thousands and of hundreds, with the rulers over the king's work, offered willingly;

29:10そこでダビデは全会衆の前で主をほめたたえた。ダビデは言った、「われわれの先祖イスラエルの神、主よ、あなたはとこしえにほむべきかたです。 29:10 Therefore David blessed Yahweh before all the assembly; and David said, "You are blessed, Yahweh, the God of Israel our father, forever and ever.
29:11主よ、大いなることと、力と、栄光と、勝利と、威光とはあなたのものです。天にあるもの、地にあるものも皆あなたのものです。主よ、国もまたあなたのものです。あなたは万有のかしらとして、あがめられます。 29:11 Yours, Yahweh, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty! For all that is in the heavens and in the earth is yours. Yours is the kingdom, Yahweh, and you are exalted as head above all.
29:12富と誉とはあなたから出ます。あなたは万有をつかさどられます。あなたの手には勢いと力があります。あなたの手はすべてのものを大いならしめ、強くされます。 29:12 Both riches and honor come from you, and you rule over all; and in your hand is power and might; and it is in your hand to make great, and to give strength to all.
29:13われわれの神よ、われわれは、いま、あなたに感謝し、あなたの光栄ある名をたたえます。 29:13 Now therefore, our God, we thank you, and praise your glorious name.
29:14しかしわれわれがこのように喜んでささげることができても、わたしは何者でしょう。わたしの民は何でしょう。すべての物はあなたから出ます。われわれはあなたから受けて、あなたにささげたのです。 29:14 But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly as this? For all things come from you, and of your own have we given you.
29:15われわれはあなたの前ではすべての先祖たちのように、旅びとです、寄留者です。われわれの世にある日は影のようで、長くとどまることはできません。 29:15 For we are strangers before you, and foreigners, as all our fathers were. Our days on the earth are as a shadow, and there is no remaining.
29:16われわれの神、主よ、あなたの聖なる名のために、あなたに家を建てようとしてわれわれが備えたこの多くの物は皆あなたの手から出たもの、また皆あなたのものです。 29:16 Yahweh our God, all this store that we have prepared to build you a house for your holy name comes from your hand, and is all your own.
29:17わが神よ、あなたは心をためし、また正直を喜ばれることを、わたしは知っています。わたしは正しい心で、このすべての物を喜んでささげました。今わたしはまた、ここにおるあなたの民が喜んで、みずから進んであなたにささげ物をするのを見ました。 29:17 I know also, my God, that you try the heart, and have pleasure in uprightness. As for me, in the uprightness of my heart I have willingly offered all these things. Now have I seen with joy your people, that are present here, offer willingly to you.
29:18われわれの先祖アブラハム、イサク、イスラエルの神、主よ、あなたの民の心にこの意志と精神とをいつまでも保たせ、その心をあなたに向けさせてください。 29:18 Yahweh, the God of Abraham, of Isaac, and of Israel, our fathers, keep this forever in the imagination of the thoughts of the heart of your people, and prepare their heart for you;
29:19またわが子ソロモンに心をつくしてあなたの命令と、あなたのあかしと、あなたのさだめとを守らせて、これをことごとく行わせ、わたしが備えをした宮を建てさせてください」。 29:19 and give to Solomon my son a perfect heart, to keep your commandments, your testimonies, and your statutes, and to do all these things, and to build the palace, for which I have made provision."
29:20そしてダビデが全会衆にむかって、「あなたがたの神、主をほめたたえよ」と言ったので、全会衆は先祖たちの神、主をほめたたえ、伏して主を拝し、王に敬礼した。 29:20 David said to all the assembly, "Now bless Yahweh your God!" All the assembly blessed Yahweh, the God of their fathers, and bowed down their heads and prostrated themselves before Yahweh and the king.
29:21そしてその翌日彼らは全イスラエルのために主に犠牲をささげた。すなわち燔祭として雄牛一千、雄羊一千、小羊一千をその灌祭と共に主にささげ、おびただしい犠牲をささげた。 29:21 They sacrificed sacrifices to Yahweh, and offered burnt offerings to Yahweh, on the next day after that day, even one thousand bulls, one thousand rams, and one thousand lambs, with their drink offerings, and sacrifices in abundance for all Israel,
29:22そしてその日、彼らは大いなる喜びをもって主の前に食い飲みした。彼らはさらに改めてダビデの子ソロモンを王となし、これに油を注いで主の君となし、またザドクを祭司とした。 29:22 and ate and drink before Yahweh on that day with great gladness. They made Solomon the son of David king the second time, and anointed him to Yahweh to be prince, and Zadok to be priest.
29:23こうしてソロモンはその父ダビデに代り、王として主の位に座した。彼は栄え、イスラエルは皆彼に従った。 29:23 Then Solomon sat on the throne of Yahweh as king instead of David his father, and prospered; and all Israel obeyed him.
29:24またすべてのつかさたち、勇士たち、およびダビデ王の王子たちも皆ソロモン王に忠誠を誓った。 29:24 All the princes, the mighty men, and also all of the sons of king David submitted themselves to Solomon the king.
29:25主は全イスラエルの目の前でソロモンを非常に大いならしめ、彼より前のイスラエルのどの王も得たことのない王威を彼に与えられた。 29:25 Yahweh magnified Solomon exceedingly in the sight of all Israel, and bestowed on him such royal majesty as had not been on any king before him in Israel.
29:26このようにエッサイの子ダビデは全イスラエルを治めた。 29:26 Now David the son of Jesse reigned over all Israel.
29:27彼がイスラエルを治めた期間は四十年であった。すなわちヘブロンで七年世を治め、エルサレムで三十三年世を治めた。 29:27 The time that he reigned over Israel was forty years; he reigned seven years in Hebron, and he reigned thirty-three years in Jerusalem.
29:28彼は高齢に達し、年も富も誉も満ち足りて死んだ。その子ソロモンが彼に代って王となった。 29:28 He died in a good old age, full of days, riches, and honor: and Solomon his son reigned in his place.
29:29ダビデ王の始終の行為は、先見者サムエルの書、預言者ナタンの書および先見者ガドの書にしるされている。 29:29 Now the acts of David the king, first and last, behold, they are written in the history of Samuel the seer, and in the history of Nathan the prophet, and in the history of Gad the seer,
